Throw Me To The Wolves
Working on a book, when I write it's legit just rambling, I know it seems weird but I write down my little side comments I think about in the text as I'm writing, it just seems to help and then I go back and edit it. Kinda like a drawing, I start out with the shape and then define it..etc. But, I thought I'd share here c: just for fun.
Everything you are about to read is a rough draft, in fact this book has changed so many times I can't even so everything is subject to change and will most likely change a lot when I do the final edit and post it on wattpad.
I got really into werewolf books because I love to see how people change the stereotypical werewolf, I like seeing what they think a werewolf is all about.

Though it was still silent like the pre-dawn always is, in that darkness devoid of birdsong, there came a musky scent that seemed to roll across the forest floor trapping any who dared to enter.
Turn around, go back.
I couldn't. Death awaited me if I returned to that place, my only hopeful option was to keep running.
From the shadows came a man, he was no ordinary person it was clear the way he moved, the way his eyes watched me, he was a predator and I his prey. His large fingers wrapped around my arms halting me in my path with ease. He pulled me towards him, swiftly with a jerking motion that sends my head back, lifting me up so I could barely touch the ground on the tips of my toes
His head was tilted down now and as I looked up into his depraved yellow eyes, I knew at that moment, I had been thrown to the wolves.

There was a forest on the edge of town, a short distance from my house. I could stand on the back of my porch and see the tree line. I remember at that time it was full of bright green vegetation, everything seemed to be just right and beautiful, like a picture. The leaves danced gaily on trees up above, dapple the light, intermittent shade, bird song rises and falls in a sweet melodious chorus. Calling me like I was meant to trek into the forest, following nature's unmarked path and going where ever my feet carried me.
But that was the one thing no one ever did, perhaps that's why the forest was so enchanting. No one stepped foot in it, it was untouched, untainted, waiting for someone to ruin it.
My father told me not to venture into the forest that those who go in never come out, beasts lurk through the shadows. Maybe he had hoped to scare me instead I wanted to see these beasts, to tame them. I was selfish.
Children are innocent, they are born pure of heart. No matter how hard a mother or father may try life will taint their soul and change how they see things. That day came when my parents had gone to my grandmothers, the neighbors watched, they couldn't have known at least that's what I thought.
-*-
"Hello you must be Saliphie, my, a beautiful name for such a beautiful little girl."
My small hand gripped tightly to my father's large callused one, my head coming to below his head I stood slightly behind him and looked up at the lady who was bending over talking to me. She was pretty, but, not as pretty as mommy.
"Sally, the Normans are nice enough to watch you while we are away, I promise we will return quickly."
I felt him shift causing my wide curious eyes to glance over to him, he got down on one knee and held my shoulder with his free hand turning me so I faced him. "If it had not been on such sort noticed we could have made different arrangements." He sighed and squeezed my hand before dropping it as his hand lifted, rubbing his knuckles over my cheek. I smiled, it was a twisted smile like I was trying not to cry, I could tell he was nervous.
"I understand" I listed my hand and patted his cheek gently, his eyes widened slightly before he grinned at me. He gave my shoulder a small reassuring shake before pating it, standing to his feet he looked down at me, "They have a daughter, perhaps you two can play.. I'll call shortly.. Thank you again." He looked up at the woman and nodded his head before walking off the porch and towards his car, never looking back.
His heavy hand was replaced with daintily light ones as the woman pulled me back against her legs, we stood facing his car waving as he pulled away.
"You'll feel right at home Saliphie, can I call you Sally as well? That's a pretty nickname.."
She lead me through the door and into the house, I gave her a small shrug of my shoulders tell her I didn't mind what she called me. "Well Emma is in the back yard with her father, why don't you go say hello?"
I glanced up at her, she seemed so happy and reassuring, I nodded with a small smile on my face and walked out the back door. There standing in the middle was a girl around my age though she was an inch or two taller, she stood there talking with a man who was taller than my dad and bigger too.
They seemed to be having a heated conversation, her eyes were narrowed and her arms crossed over her chest mimicking the mans gestures only he had slight amusement in his eyes. He looked up and smiled at me soon she caught on and looked too her eyes widening in surprise.
"You must be.. uh.. Salphi.." He grutned like saying my name was difficult for him, I giggled and nodded my head "Saliphie.."
He reached his hand up to scratch the back of his head "Right.. wow.. mouthful there.. This is Emma." He gestured towards the girl as he began to walk back into the house "I have to go help the misses, you two play nice I'll be back shortly."
We bot nodded not saying anything.
Fillers.
"My father said people shouldn't go into the woods.."
We stood hand in hand facing the forest as a small breeze whipped around us from behind seeming to push us forward.
"I have been in the woods before.."
A small gasped escaped me "Really? And you came out?" She chuckled and seemed to stand up straighter "Of course I did! I'm strong!" I laughed with her before the silence surrounded us once more.
"You first"
"What why me? Your first!"
"You said you went in here before, so you first."
"No, how about we go together."
"Together?"
"Together."
"One.."
"Two.."
"Three.."
We both took a large step forward and froze, I looked down at my feet and then over at her, she looked at me as well and smirked. We toke another step, another and another. Soon we were a few a good distance from her house, you could barely see in through the trees.
"I bet I can climb that!"
She pointed farther ahead to a fallen tree, I squinted trying to see it before I could reply she was already running towards it.
"Wait for me!" I called out to her cupping my hands around my mouth before I took a hesitant glance backward. I have never forgotten that feeling I had, that sudden fear that seemed to shot up my spine as it caused my steps to falter for a split second. Beasts, my fathers words rang in my mind but I pushed them aside.
By the time I caught up with her she was already climbing up the side of the tree and scrambling to get on top of it, it had fallen onto another tree which caused it to be slanted. She climbed higher as I stood below looking up at her.
"How high are you gonna climb? Let's do something else."
Fillers BLERG
A howl echoed out around us causing her decline to stop, I jerked turned my head in the direction it had come from. My breaths came out heavier like I had just ran a short distance, she moved before I did and came to stand next to me.
"We should go ba-"
Something moved, snapping of twigs and soon there were two creatures before us. I had never seen one in person, perhaps that was why they were so big, I had read about them. Wolves.
Emma stood next to me and took my hand.
"Aren't we suppose to play dead..?"
She gave a small shake of her head as one of them growled lowly. "Playing dead won't help us.."
An inhuman sound came from her as one of them stepped closer snapping his jaws in a threatening manner, "My dad will be here soon! So.. So you better leave!" My eyes widen and I looked over at her like she was plum crazy, these things couldn't understand her.
One of them lunged at us, my scream filled the air, a scream I didn't even know I had let out as I watched Emma barely move out of the way then she was on the ground. Ha dI seen wrong, had he got to her, her bones began to pop out of place and another scream escaped me as my hands came over to cover my mouth.
I fell to the ground my small hands covering most of my face as my spread apart exposing my wide eyes. There were Emma had just been stood a tiny dog, no a tiny wolf, who was howling to the sky before growling at the two very much larger ones.
Fillers.
Dad comes in,
Saves them.
Yep.
The wolfs outta the bag.
