Slatecall

The grey tabby listened quietly to his Deputy's announcements. None of it came as a shock to him. He'd seen Coalpaw's body and it wasn't that shocking that Rowanclaw would be going to receive his nine lives. It was the tom's right after all as being deputy when their leader had died. Slatecall nodded slightly at the news. Before long, the clan meeting was over. He had noticed Spiderpaw's glance towards him before their deputy had begun speaking, and he had given her a small nod before the tom on the rock had started his speech.

Now, Slatecall stood up and looked at the two apprentices that had been sitting before him. They were padding quietly towards their deceased denmate. He wanted to go to bed. It had been an eventful day so far and he was tired, but something tugged him to a stop before he even started moving towards the warriors den. The spotted warrior looked back at Spiderpaw and Sunpaw, sitting next to the still, black form that was Coalpaw, and he sighed. Instead of heading towards his nest, he strode over to the apprentices and sat down next to the tortoiseshell form of Spiderpaw. He felt slightly awkward being next to the two grieving felines, but then made himself relax, and respectfully touch his nose to the young maine coon's ear. "May Starclan guide you safely to their ranks." His voice was a murmur so quiet, it was only a soft vibration within his throat. 

Slatecall lifted his gaze and glanced down at Spiderpaw, feeling slightly awkward again before he lifted his tail and lightly draped it over both apprentices, hoping the act would help comfort them. He stayed as he was, facing a dead apprentice while sitting next to two young cats with his tail across their backs. The grey spotted warrior was as still as a statue, sitting like he was guarding the body of Coalpaw from harm while the young tom made the journey to where their ancestors watched over them.

Froststorm listens to Rowanclaws speech in silence.  She wished there was something she could have done for Coalpaw, but he was already gone.  Starclan wanted him. She just hoped that he didn't suffer too much from the monster that ran over him, or the fox's final blow.    She can't imagine how Iceclaw feels, not fully, but she can understand some. When Rowanclaw is done speaking and he jumps down from highrock to talk to those who need to speek to him, Froststorm makes her way to her den to prepare for tomorrow. She will need to eat soon, but right now she needs to prepare the herbs in advance.


Once there she does grab everything she needs and makes a bundle for herself and Rowanclaw. Her mind on Rowanclaw and his soon to be rule of the clan.  She hopes he doesn't let it all go to his head.  She doesn't need to focus on her task of this bundling.  She made herself remember everything before she became a medicine cat herself.  That way she knows she wont mess anything up and she can do this on the fly, when she isn't at her den.
