` LITTLEFLAME
another gathering. he didn't entirely look forward to them, not enjoying the forced pleasantries with the other clans. some cats enjoyed it, of course, but litteflame certainly wasn't one of those cats. he didn't like the other clans, and barely masked his distaste. it was a tricky game now that he was deputy. he needed to keep up good appearances for his clan, but it was a challenge to hide his distaste. as they approached the fourtrees, his nose wrinkled as the scents from thunderclan and riverclan reached his nose. disgusting, really. thankfully it was just for the night. his ears flicked in acknowledgement at starlingstar's reminder about sandpaw, and he gave the leader a forced smile. "she'll be fine, i'm sure." he meowed, though gave the apprentice a warning glare as starling turned away. "be good." he murmured, before his eyes shifted to gingerstep, "you too. be nice." with that, he turned to leap after starlingstar.
he glanced around, barely holding back a sneer. the other deputies, sunsplash and zinnianose, were conversing with mintfeather, while the leaders gathered and warriors and apprentices mingled. his eyes skimmed the crowd, deciding not to join the other deputies at the moment. they were fine, he supposed. and sweet mintfeather would prevent him from having too much fun. he noticed a hulking brute of a tom sitting alone, and after a moment's thought, he headed that way. it was a gathering, after all. no cat should be sitting alone.
"you look like you're having a wonderful time." he said dryly as he arrived at the other's side, glancing over at him. he stunk of fish, clearly a riverclan cat. ugh. he had to physically force himself from not grimacing. "the point of a gathering is to mingle, you know." he then meowed, voice slightly chiding as if talking to an apprentice, "and you're not doing very much mingling."

Gingerstep
"nice night, ain’t it?" Oh. Gingerstep thought as she watched the Riverclan tom approach her, her eyes narrowing, as an overwhelming scent of fish reached out, nearly choking her with it. She was in no mood to talk, but she wasn't going to pick a fight in the gathering, like she did when she was a mere apprentice. "Sure, it's a nice night." She said coolly, meeting the Riverclan cat's eyes with her dull green ones as the Riverclan tom introduced himself, while at the same time, trying to joke about it. It totally was not a nice night. She was too moody to care whether it was a nice night or not. "My name is Gingerstep. From Windclan." Not bad. She thought to herself. Keep it nice and slick, and he'll get bored and will move away. "Shadowclan should hurry up though, everybody's itching for the gathering to start." She added, as an afterthought. She should at least attempt to be polite with the cats from the other clans. It didn't really help that the tom was obviously younger than her but waaaay bigger. Gingerstep was often touchy about her size, and would be more than happy to attack. Her eyes scanned the tom up at down, looking for something salty to tell him, in case he will say anything about her appearances. Messy, full of cuts, he looked like a sad cross between a riverclan cat and a windclan cat, the windclan part of him trying to push itself in. But Gingerstep really wasn't going to blow up on a cat that did nothing wrong, yet. She couldn't rant to him about her apprentice not coming to the gathering and get a nice lecture by that old Littleflame. Ugggh. Couldn't Starlingstar have like... chosen a better deputy? but again, gingerstep had barely passed warriorship when a new deputy was needed. she wasn't much of a choice, really."You still here?" She asked irritably, as she jerked herself out of the angry thoughts towards Littleflame towards the tom. "I suppose you don't really have a choice, do you? Half the cats here are talking with each other already and then you have me, sitting alone." Now that was rude. Oops. She didn't mind nor care if the riverclan tom should happen to walk away. Redpaw Palestar? Redpaw widened his eyes, impressed at the cat in front of him who was apparently mentored by the pretty white she-cat who just complimented him earlier. "Cooool!" He breathed. "Palestar is an amazing leader, and warrior." The tom declared, standing on his hind legs to look around the clearing. He couldn't smell the scent of bogs nor see any approaching cats. "Ah well." Redpaw said, sitting down with a huff. "We might have to wait a while, leaves more time for us all to talk and all." The red tabby tom gave his chest a quick lick before turning around at the two apprentices around him. "Anyone anticipating what our warrior names could be? I think I could be Redheart. Or maybe Redstorm. Redstorm sounds cool. But I need 5 or so more moons of training. I can't wait that long!" Redpaw sighed. Five moons was totally a long time. Training was a boring drag, really.

"Okay, so blind means you can't see. That's cool, but do you know what a mottled pattern is? It's like a bunch of different fur colors splashed together," Mottlepaw meowed, attempting to explain what her fur looked like. "My fur has patches of ginger, grey and white!" She glanced over her shoulder at her fur, "Oh! And there is a little bit of black too!" She looked rather pleased with her explanation of her fur pattern. The small windclan apprentice said nothing along the lines of an apology. She just figured her explanation was making up for the fact that her initial comment had been very assumptious in thinking they already knew what she looked like. "Oh! And it's nice to meet the both of you!"
Mottlepaw turned her attention to Redpaw, when he commented on Stonepaw knowing how many fish would be in the pile when he entered his clans camp. "Even if you're not to that point yet, that's pretty cool Stonepaw! Almost as cool as having Palestar as your mentor!" Mottlepaw looked around the clearing before pointing to the leaders with her tail, "That's her talking with Starlingstar and Hawkstar, right? Wow, she's really pretty!" Mottlepaw gasped. A slight pang of jealously struck her, he was being trained by his clans leader, and that meant he would probably become a really cool warrior really fast. Mottlepaw pushed her jealousy aside for the time being, "My mentor is Featherclaw, she's around here somewhere."
It was then that Redpaw started speaking about names. "Our warrior names, huh?" Mottlepaw started thinking, "I want my name to be something cool! Something like Mottlebreeze or Mottlestorm!" While talking, she pranced around in her spot filled with energy and excitement. Just as soon as she started the prancing, she stopped and sat down wearing a frown. "5 moons left? That means your seven moons old! I'm only 6 moons, and I was named an apprentice just recently!" She had been hoping Redpaw and Stonepaw were the same age as her, so that they'd all get warrior names around the same time and then compare them to see who had the cooler name. "What about you Stonepaw? How old are you?"
Redfall enjoyed the cat watching, seeing how other cats interacted. Which is why he was a little surprised when a cat sat next to him, smelling strongly of Windclan. When this cat started speaking, the large red tom immediately figured out who it was. Littleflame, deputy of windclan. Redfall felt a little apprehensive, wondering why this tom had chosen to speak with him rather than the other deputies that were here. "I am having a nice time," Redfall meowed, responding to the first comment by littleflame.
The bulky red tom listened to Littleflame, and was a little taken a back. This tom was speaking to Redfall as if he were an apprentice! That was something that did not sit well with him. Redfall chose not to be angry though, instead he put his mind to work thinking up a reply. Talking with other cats was fine and all, but Redfall wasn't much of a talker to begin with. "I know its for mingling, the gatherings," he began hesitating a little as he spoke, "But I'm not very good at the mingling part." Redfall decidedly offered no explanation as to why he wasn't good at the mingling part. He didn't think that was overly necessary.
"So," Redfall hesitated once more before continuing, "How has Windclan been this past moon?" If this deputy was going to sit and talk with him, Redfall might as well make an effort in the conversation.

STONEPAW " ...Thank you." Stonepaw mumbled, resisting the urge to rub his whiskers over the other apprentice to get a more accurate form of the other apprentice's height. Was the other cat taller? Leaner? It wasn't supposed to matter, but Stonepaw found it sort of important. He nodded at Redpaw's next statement, then looked towards Mottlepaw's voice and her describing her pelt. That did make sense. The blind tortoiseshell nodded his head once, then listened as Mottlepaw prattled on, blushing a bit at the compliment towards himself. He wasn't that good, but... he could be...? At the reveal that redpaw was his age, Stonepaw's ears perked up. " I have 5 moons left of training too! Not sure if that's enough for my blindness, but that's swell." He laughed slightly at Mottlepaw's proclaimation of being one moon younger. " I suppose you're gonna have to work a lot harder to catch up with us." He tapped a paw on Redpaw's side, then placed it back down, feeling awkward for even doing that in the first place. " so... I don't know what my warrior name would be. Stonestream wouldn't fit, since I don't know how to swim yet..." He curled his tail around his paw, thinking. " ...Stoneheart? I mean, it sounds nice. Stotic, like... like I want to be? Haha..." OOC || Tis be short. Sorry. Also, Stonepaw starts to relax slightly.

Starlingstar
Starlingstar watched as his deputy warned Sandpaw about her behavior and then headed over in the leader and deputy direction. Thats when he off skirted and headed to a warrior he didn't know what clan nor did Starlingstar care. He was glad that his deputy decided to include others and liked to be on the back burner and not in he center of things all the time. Which was the opposite of what Starlingstar was when he was an warrior. He knew that at the gathering he could talk too who ever but he had been a leader to long to join that crowd. Off in his own thoughts slightly he noticed that another Thunderclan scent was on them. It wasn't Hawkstar, and Starlingstar looked down to see a red tabby tom. He only seemed to be a newly apprentice but was talking to Palestar. She just thank him for his kind words but this cat wasn't done. Thats when the thunderclan apprentice turned to him and told him that he was great leader. Starlingstar flicked his tail and grumbled something under his breath before smiling slightly at the tom. He watched as the apprentice bounded off to join some of the other apprentices.
Thats when Mintfeather came up and started chatting with all the leaders. Mintfeather was a sweet cat he knew that she missed being a warrior but the medicine cat role really suited her. She took to the ways quite well and he was glad to have the kind she-cat in his clan. Starlingstar then watched as the medicine cat asked about Hawkstar's kits. If Starlingstar remember correctly the Thunderclan leader had a mate named Patchmist. He really didn't pay attention to the other clans and their warriors all that much because he had his own warriors to worry about. Thats when Hawkstar talked about his kits relaxing a bit and Starlingstar just took that opportunity to make sure all of his cats were in line. It seemed to be that Littleflame was conversing, and Gingerstep was looking grim. No doubt because he had choose Sandpaw, Mottlepaw, and Applepaw over her own apprentice. Though she wasn't the leader so she would just have to deal with it. Then he found Mottlepaw next talking with two other apprentices which was good. But with that he noticed the conversation coming to a halt once again.
Starlingstar decided to say nothing to Hawkstar and his kits. Nothing needed to be said, he just grumbled looking up at the moon. Shadowclan was arriving late. Why was there always that one clan. He didn't know nor did he care because soon he would hop up on the rock and start with out them. He was old and all the warriors and leaders had duties to do at dawn. They couldn't wait until then. Though it was still early but the black tom was impatient about waiting for Rookstar and her clan. Thats when he noticed that Palestar was off paying attention to something else. "Rookstar and her warriors better not take much longer." Starlingstar growled slightly with that comment. "We better thank Starclan for the beautiful night they are giving us to sit and wait."
Sandpaw
Sandpaw padded into the clearing along side of Applepaw. Her sister Mottlepaw was ahead of her and already breaking off in the crowd of what it smelt like fish and trees. Sandpaw was about to move when she got a warning from the deputy Littleflame. Starlingstar was a smart guy to have Littleflame keep an eye on her because she was known to rub others the wrong way and not back down from what she believes in. She was the cool cat that was forsure. Sandpaw smiled sweetly at the deputy with his warning before he turned and headed off after the tall black leader. Sandpaw wondered what Starlingstar's or Littleflame's first gathering was like. She then focused back to the task at hand. Gathering. There were two smells that the ginger apprentice smelt. It was fish, clearly Riverclan because she recognized the scent from the border. Then there was a foresty, tree kind of scent. She knew it couldn't be Shadowclan so it had to be Thunderclan. Flicking her ears she remembered the scent for future references. She then just darted in the crowd noticing cats already forming small groups. There had to be other apprentices around here somewhere. Thats when she spotted Mottlepaw talking to two other apprentices.
Sandpaw approached her sister and noticed they were talking about training and how many moons they had left. She just rolled her clear blue eyes, they had this all wrong. She would set them straight and she liked to also see her sister squirm. Because why not embarrass your sister while your at it. She was good at that even though she lover her sister they tended to butt heads and Sandpaw knew the calico she-cat wanted to get away from her. She just padded up to the small ground noticing the smell of Thunderclan and Riverclan. She just snorted, hearing something about Mottlepaw saying about her warrior name though Sandpaw didn't intrude until the riverclan apprentice said some stuff. "You know Mottlepaw if your warrior name would be more like Mottleprancey or Mottlesweetvoice because you tend to be more sweet and excited than cool." She just then twitched her whiskers at her sister slightly knowing that she rained on her parade. Then she tilted her head, "You know its not how many moons you have been training its actually up to your mentor and the leader when you become a warrior. I have heard stories of apprentices becoming warriors young because they proved themself in battle." Then she sighed dramatically and touched Mottlepaw with her tail, "Remember its actually your skills and knowledge that make you a warrior not your age and size. Make sure to keep that in mind sister dear when chatting with others." Then Sandpaw pushed past her sister and the two toms waving her tail she called back over her shoulder remembering their names from before she barged in. "It was nice to meet you Stonepaw and Redpaw." Thats when she smirked slightly and padded into the crowd knowing there had to be another apprentice around here to chat with.

My my, aren’t we just havin’ a good ol’ time, thought Mudfish wryly to himself, surveying the WindClan (he had been correct after all!) she-cat in front of him with searching eyes. What she had said was true though: cats were getting antsy from waiting on the clan from yonder Thunderpath, even Mudfish could sense it. He hadn’t missed the way Gingerstep’s eyes had raked him through, as if she was looking for something to criticise. If anything the tom had adjusted his posture to be more correct, thinking that if she was searching might as well give her something worth her while. "you still here? i suppose you don't really have a choice, do you? half the cats here are talking with each other already and then you have me, sitting alone." Gingerstep’s tone was what made Mudfish decide on his course of action. The sudden crankiness was jarring, but the RiverClan cat was not easily deterred. Mudfish slid a pleasant smile onto his features (as much as a cat could smile, that is) and pointedly sat down next to the other cat, making a business out of curling his sleek tail across his paws.
‘Well, you’re not alone anymore, Gingerstep, so no need to beat yourself up about it,’ if her voice had been laced with saltiness, his was equally cheerful, with no hesitance whatsoever even though the smaller WindClan cat was technically his senior. ‘I for one don’t mind at all, to be quite honest. Best choice I could’ve made,’ Mudfish paused for a beat, as if considering, then added, ‘Oh, by the way, your warrior name fits you pretty well, did you know that? You have a lot of spice behind your words and you act, as in ‘step around’, pretty gingerly with other cats!’
Delivered in Mudfish’s teasingly lilting tone, the cheek was real and obvious. He was going to have fun tonight, StarClan willing, and if that meant implicating this angsty she-cat, so be it.

Smokestorm Pale yellow eyes landed on a snow white she-cat who was stopped in front of him and talking to him. Works every time. He thought smugly with a quick smirk. It worked every time on she-cat who seemed interested in him. Normally after a few minutes of his flirting, they backed off again, wondering what they had been thinking. "Who says I was ignoring you when I easily knew you would come after me?" He asked with a slight purr. She pushed at his shoulder with her own in a greeting and his whiskers twitched. There was a smug look on his face as he watched her look him up and down. Who wouldn't like what they saw? She captivated his view...not just because she was beautiful but because she had sat in front of him so he couldn't look at anyone else. He had to give her points for that. While she was taking the time to look him over, he did the same, completely unabashedly and openly. She flicked his paws with her tail as she brought it around to cover her paws. His whiskers twitched as he stared into her eyes. He left his tail off of his paws. It made him seem more open that way. He wouldn't help but think how mysterious she was being. "name's littlepond, but you can call me miss, if you'd like to make up for being so rude earlier." He grinned down at her, being much taller. From her scent and her name, she was from Riverclan. He looked into her Shimmering blue eyes with his pale yellow ones. She was by far one of the most beautiful she-cats he had ever seen. The other one being Cloud... He mentally shook is head, not wanting to think about her right then. The tall warrior chuckled. "You look like you are having an internal war about something, miss." He grinned at her and put emphasis on the word miss. She asked him what his name was. "Smokestorm, at your service darling." The grey warrior paused before speaking again. "So hot stuff, you seem to be from Riverclan, but I'm getting a feeling you weren't born there. Is that correct? It was how she had spoken and her markings that had tipped him off.
--- RipplepawRipplepaw grinned back at Littlepond and ducked her paw. "why are you trailing after an over confident thunderclan cat?"He perked up at her words and puffed out his chest. "Because I want to be confident like him! I thought I could ask some pointeres since that is what gatherings are all about, right!" The she-cat looked like she was about to scold him but he ignored the look. When she told him to go talk to other apprentices he looked over at where she was pointing at a group of them. Stonepaw was with them! Ripplepaw got to his paws and bounded over to the group. A she-cat who must be an apprentice too, was just leaving as he got there. "Stonepaw! Who are your friends?" He was excited to be meeting cats around the same age as him who were from different clans. He figured none of them were from Shadowclan because he had caught snippets from others as he went past, saying Shadowclan wasn't there yet. "I'm Ripplepaw, from Riverclan like Stonepaw!"---MintfeatherMintfeather nodded at Hawkstar's words. She was glad to see him happy. "Those are beautiful names. I hope to meet them sometime." She smiled at Zinnianose. The she-cat had seemed uptight about something, Mintfeather wasn't quite sure what, but she was happy to see the ginger and white she-cat relaxing some. "riverclan is doing just fine, thank you. i hope windclan is having the same luck as we have this greenleaf!" Mintfeather purred happily to the Riverclan leader and deputy. "I am happy to hear that. We haven't had any major injuries or sicknesses, thank Starclan." The spotted, off-white she-cat looked up as another ginger and white she-cat came over. Mintfeather smiled and purred. "Welcome Sunsplash. And of course not, we're happy to have you join in."
"i'm sure eveningblaze is excited to talk to you about his new apprentice." Mintfeather perked up at Palestar's words. "He has an apprentice? Well good for him! I would love to talk to him about it when I see him." She couldn't believe the the tom had an apprentice already. She hadn't even thought about one yet. There had been no sign from Starclan to tell her that there was a young cat destined to be her apprentice. She trusted in Starclan and knew they would tell her when the time was right.

littlepond snorted at the toms over confidence, she couldn't tell if she was impressed with it or if she wanted to bat him around the ears. his own confidence matched her own; something she'd never met and he wasn't even a prude when it came to harmless flirting, who in starclan did she have to thank for this tom? "i came after you to tell you to stop distracting our apprentices' by shamelessly flirting with our leaders." she purred softly having seen palestars amused face and zinnianoses expression of shock and displeasure, and don't forget how mortified hawkstar must've been. the white she-cat let out a soft mrrow of amusement.
"You look like you are having an internal war about something, miss." littlepond smiled sweetly; a fake expression as he spoke to her. "maybe i am, but i never knew a thunderclan cat to be so interested in a riverclan cats secret." her voice was gentle and sweet like her expression but an underlying warning to back off from personal conversation was present. whether he ignored it or listened to it was up to him, but if he were to ignore it, he could certainly expect some invasive questions to say the least. smokestorm, littlepond let out a scoff at his name. "you represent a storm as much as i represent a hound." she laughed softly with her eyes glittering in amusement as she teased the tom cat. "they should call you smokefluff. even if they don't, i will." she drawled whilst pulling a paw up and cleaning behind her ear with a few quick swipes.
"So hot stuff, you seem to be from Riverclan, but I'm getting a feeling you weren't born there. Is that correct?" littlepond lifted her eyes to meet his with a curiously raised eyebrow as her tail twitched slightly."hot stuff, i like it." she grinned, her fangs showing as she spoke. "i was a house cat, they called me a siamese; pedigree. in the twoleg world i guess that's special." she laughed softly. "don't get me wrong, i'm not a big fan of twolegs, i left pretty young; i think this is the first time zinnianose and palenose actually trusted me to come to the gathering this moon." she chuckled softly and tossing her eyes down. each cat reacts differently to her origins and although she was well able to handle herself and stand up for herself, she wanted this cat to like her. he was the first that she'd met who didn't seem put off by her personality. "that going to be a problem to you, sweetie?" she drawled as her blue eyes met his with a confident expression.

Gingerstep
Gingerstep swallowed a snarl at the tom's words. She was 'gingerly?' She bunched up for fur angrily, trying to make herself appear as large as the younger cheeky tom from Riverclan who needed to learn better manners. "Why you---!" Her claws were itching to rake across the cat's nose. Gingerstep was the type of cat to try and control her anger, and her in her normal reasoning state would know that it was her who started the fight anyways, but right now, she exploded--all crankiness and saltiness to Mudfish's face. A small whisper of consciousness before she gave in to her anger had just managed to tell her that she shouldn't really attract all the attention to herself and that this was a gathering, but she spewed it out anyways."Jeez, I'm just sitting here in a gathering quietly to wait for everyone and hear the newest gathering news and all of a sudden, this random cat with fishy breathe that totally looks like mud just appears out of NOWHERE and start acting like he owns the place. I mean, can you mind your own business? There's like two million other Thunderclan cats for you to talk to, but I'm not in the mood right now. " The she-cat's temper was leaking out, all the fresh anger from Tigerpaw not coming going all over the place. She held her head high with dignity, and started to stand up. She was so going to move and sit towards another place, before turning around to glare at Mudfish, her green eyes in slits. He picked the wrong cat to mess around with, Gingerstep was having none of that.Redpaw"it was nice to meet you stonepaw and redpaw." Redpaw purred at the arrival of another Windclan apprentice. "Hello Sandpaw, it's nice to meet you." Redpaw greeted. It seems that all the apprentices at the gathering were starting to 'gather' in their small little group. The red tom looked around, his whiskers twitching before he felt a lit tap at his flank. "We're the same age Stonepaw? Cool! We'll probably will be warriors at the same time. I'll reveal my new name if we meet again in a gathering." Redpaw said turning to Stonepaw, his eyes gleaming at the riverclan tom who was sitting right next to him. "And Mottlepaw is probably experiencing the feels of being a noob, and feeling like you're learning everything Starclan needs to offer. Don't worry though, it normally wears off after a moon." The tom sighed, fluffing out his fur to warm himself. The moon was raising higher and starting to get breezy and slightly colder.
"i'm ripplepaw, from riverclan like stonepaw!" said another cat who appeared. Redpaw blinked in welcome. 'Hey Ripplepaw!" He said in a friendly manner. "I'm Redpaw, from Thunderclan." He repeated, half his words also directed to Sandpaw. He sighed, leaning a little back, before turning towards the direction of a hiss as a ginger Windclan she-cat stalked away from a Riverclan cat. "Isn't there like a truce?" He asked curiously, eyeing the ginger cat who sat down in another spot with a huff. "She looks really mad at something, know her?" He asked, looking at the Windclan cats.

Mottlepaw pouted a little when she learned that Stonepaw was also older than her. Instead of complaining though, she listened attentively as Stonepaw spoke about his possible warrior name. The windclan apprentice was even about to comment. And she would have, if it weren't for her sisters arrival. Mottlepaw knew a good deal of her sisters comments were aimed as jabs to make he squirm, but she held her retorts back, not wanting to anger Starlingstar and the other clans. Instead she sighed a little, "I know that, Sandpaw! That doesn't mean we can't talk about the possible length of our training, and possible warrior names."
It was a great relief once Sandpaw left, Mottlepaw turned back to Stonepaw and Redpaw, "Sorry about that. My sister, Sandpaw, isn't always the nicest." The mottled apprentice's voice held no animosity though, clearly she had already decided to forgive her sister for what had transpired. " What were we talking about again? Names? Stoneheart sounds like a cool one Stonepaw!" Mottlepaw's train of thought had been interrupted, so she didn't entirely remember what she had wanted to say about Stonepaw's possible warrior name. It was around that time, that yet another apprentice joined their conversation. This tom also smelled of the river and fish, so that meant he was one of Stonepaw's clanmates. After he introduced himself as Ripplepaw, Mottlepaw nodded, "Its nice to meet you Ripplepaw! I'm Mottlepaw from Windclan! The other she-cat who just left was my sister Sandpaw!" She felt the need to introduce her sister, despite the fact that Sandpaw had already moved away from them. Also hearing the hiss, Mottlepaw looked over at Gingerstep. "Oh, that's just Gingerstep being grumpy." Mottlepaw explained, "She seems to be upset that Sandpaw and I were chosen for the gathering instead of our brother, Tigerpaw, Gingerstep is his mentor." Twitching her whiskers, Mottlepaw turned her attention back to the other Apprentices. "So, Ripplepaw! We were talking about warrior names, what do you think yours will be?" the small she-cat asked tilting her head questioningly. Mottlepaw liked that all the apprentices were gathering together, it meant that any apprentices that weren't speaking with them already could find and easily join the conversation. She hoped that more apprentices would join them too, even Sandpaw. occ: I feel like the apprentices are forming some sort of little 'apprentices-only' club. tags: Yuno pix Edda Rose Minteh Freshness

Smokestorm "i came after you to tell you to stop distracting our apprentices' by shamelessly flirting with our leaders." Smokestorm laughed. "Yes, of course that was the reason." He chuckled and shook his head before glanced around, as if surprised. "Oh, was I distracting the apprentices? Well I say that's a good thing. We are here to learn a thing or two from others, are we not? I think it would be good if I could teach some Riverclan apprentices some things."He smirked at her again, loving every minute of being with her. "Ah, and as for Palestar and Zinnianose, they love me. They are always happy to see me. Especially that lovely deputy of yours. She's just always playing hard to get."He could hear the warning tone in her voice underneath all the sweet and gentle layers that she had, so he decided to leave it. For now. Instead of replying he just grinned at her mischievously . "you represent a storm as much as i represent a hound. they should call you smokefluff. even if they don't, i will." He smirked at her and leaned close, his muzzle next to her ear, their fur alwmost touching. He spoke softly, almost sudeuctively. "Maybe someday I'll show you why they call me Smokestorm, sweetheart." He leaned back with a smile and winked at her.
He watched as she lifted her shocked and curious blue eyes up to meet his pale yellow gaze. She seemed surprised he was able to notice that. He smirked as she started to reply to his comment. "i was a house cat, they called me a siamese; pedigree. in the twoleg world i guess that's special." She laughed softly and he felt ashamed that it felt like his legs were about to buckle from feeling weak at that sound. "don't get me wrong, i'm not a big fan of twolegs, i left pretty young; i think this is the first time zinnianose and palenose actually trusted me to come to the gathering this moon." She tried to seem confident after that, even going so far as to ask if it would be a problem with him. But he had noticed her dropping her gaze. Most cats must have stopped liking her after finding out she had been a kittypet. Smokestorm's ear twitched when a familiar voice caught his attention but he couldn't make out the words. He tried to pinpoint who it was but finally realized it wasn't anyone actually there. Hazelstripe. He tried not to show any emotion as he tried to pick out her words. He couldn't but this was the first time he had heard her since she had died. Slowly, a grin spread across his maw. If she was talking to him now, that must mean this was the she-cat that she had told him about before she died. Smokestorm looked Littlepond over again. "Of course not darlin'. Should it?" He drawled right back, certain that Hazelstripe had shown him the direction he needed to go in. He thought he heard a sigh from the starry cat, but wasn't sure since he didn't hear her voice again. He wanted to look around to see if he could spot her, even if she wouldn't of been tangible, but thought better of it. If this was truly the she-cat he was supposed to be with, then he wouldn't look to the past anymore, waiting for Hazelstripe. Instead he would keep his gaze on the future and this gorgeous she-cat that sat in front of him.
--- Ripplepaw Ripplepaw grinned at Redpaw and then at Mottlepaw. "It's good to meet you Redpaw and Mottlepaw! Isn't it awesome being at a gathering? I wonder what the Shadowclan apprentices are like." He glanced around and noticed the hiss from the ginger she-cat. "Wow! She looks really angry! I bet she's from Shadowclan! Everyone always says that those cats are the most ruthless and angry!" He listened to Mottlepaw talk. "Oh, so that Gingerstep is in your clan?" Mottlepaw started talking again so he looked back at her. "so, ripplepaw! we were talking about warrior names, what do you think yours will be?" Ripplepaw cocked his head. "Warrior names? I don't know what mine would be. I don't think I really care so long as I get to be an awesome warrior!" He tried to puff out his chest to look like a warrior. he laughed and shrugged. "I bet my mentor, Palestar, and Zinnianose will pick out an awesome warrior name for me. I don't have to wait as long now, I'm already 9 moons old! He grinned at the other apprentices.
Out of the corner of his eye, Ripplepaw caught sight of Littlepond sitting really closely to the grey tom he had been following earlier. "Oh! Littlepond is talking with that tom who flirted with Palestar and Zinnianose. He's so confident! I want to be like him someday!" The young tom tried to copy the older tom's way of sitting, trying to look just as confident but he ended up falling over. He got back to his paws and shook his fur out. "So, Redpaw, are you from Thunderclan? Mottlepaw said she was from Windclan and you have a different scent. And since Shadowclan isn't here yet, that leaves Thunderclan! Anyway, you have the same scent as tom. Are you guys in the same clan? What is his name?" He didn't notice how much he was talking.Words || 939 Ooc || Smokestorm is being hard headed again. lol Aaannnddd, Ripplepaw is being, Well, Ripplepaw. Tagged || pix || Kuwaki || merri || Yuno

Rowanclaw shadowclan deputy Late. That's what they were. It was not for a bad reason, though. Before Rowanclaw led ShadowClan to fourtrees, they had to make sure Rookstar was comfortable. She was ill after all. Despite this being the first time Rowanclaw was truly in charge, he was not nervous. In fact, he quite was proud. He would rather do this when he was named Rowanstar, but the russet tom was proud nevertheless.
He knew he was close when he scented all the clans. The scent hit him almost as if starclan themselves had reached down & hit him backwards. rowanclaw stopped when he was about a fox length away from the four great oaks. "This is a time of truce. No fighting," Rowanclaw mewed, "Do not give away any of our secrets & no one is to give away the status of Rookstar except for me. If anyone does otherwise they must answer to me." After he addressed his clan, rowanclaw turned & bounded into the clearing. He signaled for the rest of the clan to follow behind as well.
"ShadowClan apologizes, as we are late," Rowanclaw began, "Our leader Rookstar is not able to attend tonight's gathering. She has sent me in her place."
ooc|| shadowclan cats can post now. I've been given permission by administration to be the first ShadowClan post. Sorry for the lateness other clans

'cause tonight's the night
the world begins again Glinting eyes flickering in the night made Applepaw's heart race. They resembled twinkling stars, swarming at the gnarled roots of Fourtrees. Disembodied, the eyes seemed to float through the night on their own accord, until the retreated from the face of the full moon, allowing its pale light to once again bleach the pelts of the cats below. Silhouettes of the gathering cats revealed to Applepaw a menagerie of strangers from strange lands, and it made her heart sprint from a race to a hurdle. She could feel it jump inside her rib cage, begging to spring from the confines of her bones. This was her first Gathering as an apprentice of WindClan, and the boundless wonder coloring her face made that evident. Her big green eyes shone with awe as she entered the clearing before the four massive trees that signified the landmark of the congregation. Flanking Sandpaw, Applepaw's golden fur began to bristle with excitement. Her sheer delight overflowed from her insides, babbling out of her mouth as the rushing river of her emotions swelled. It escaped her in an endless torrent of "howdys" and "good evenin's" that she bestowed on every cat she passed, careless to whether or not they replied or even heard her. With a flick of her tail, she tagged along behind Sandpaw with a skip in her step; waltzing about on the tips of her toes, she looked more like a prancing fawn than a studious apprentice. When they came upon Mottlepaw, Applepaw beamed. Sandpaw's sister had found the other apprentices that came along to the Gathering from other Clans. Applepaw made a point to flash a sprightly smile on each of them that was bright enough to leave the moon envious. With her tufted ears perked, she was able to catch the tail-end of their conversation. It was something along the lines of warrior names, which Applepaw never stopped to consider before. In fact, she never cared to think what it would be like once she became a warrior. After all, her mentor and father took so much time building walls around her, she felt sheltered from the eventual freedom she would have as a warrior. It felt out of reach and impossible at this point. Most of the time, she felt like she was still a kit. If Rosetail, her father, had his way, she would probably be confined to the nursery for eternity. However, Sandpaw chimed in before she could speak. The jab in her voice made Applepaw blink in surprise. She had forgotten the barbed tongue Sandpaw possessed, and Applepaw was glad was spared the sting of her words. When Applepaw glanced at Mottlepaw, she tried to imagine her as a warrior named Mottleprancey or Mottlesweetvoice. The burst of laughter that followed mimicked the sound of twittering songbird: sweet, loud, and spirited. "Golly, I reckon getting name like that'll make yer trainin' a downright piddlin'." Her voice oozed from her throat with the sultriness and sweetness of honey warmed by the greenleaf sun. With her saccharine drawl becoming more apparent as she continued with fervor, Applepaw could feel the excitement she felt boil over again. "But Mottleprancey's a purdy name," Applepaw added with another giggle. Sandpaw's comment about the length of training made Applepaw shrug carelessly. Whether she would be an early bloomer or late bloomer, Applepaw only cared to blossom. She tilted her head to look passed Mottlepaw at the two tomcats before her. Applepaw never met them before, and she inclined her head in greeting. Though they likely had no knowledge of her or her name, Applepaw spoke to them as if she had known them all her life. "Hey, ya'll! Did'ja hear that?" She laughed again. "Sandpaw's just larkin' 'round, I reckon. Ain't no way you can become a warrior early... And there ain't no way Mottlepaw's gonna be named no Mottleprancey, but she sure do gotta sense o' humor, right?" The more she spoke, the more her lazy, saccharine drawl became apparent. Before she could continue making herself comfortable with the gathered apprentices, another appeared. Going by the name Ripplepaw, he seemed just as happy to be here as she was. Resonating with the joy in his voice, she perked up and took the time to introduce herself as well. "Howdy! My name's Applepaw," she greeted. "I'm from WindClan like Mottlepaw here and Sandpaw." Though she claimed to be from WindClan, she failed to fit the stereotype given to WindClan cats. She was not the least bit lithe or petite; instead, she had an average build with very muscular legs. The muscles in her legs flexed in the moonlight, causing her golden fur to ripple with laden strength. Her bright green eyes flashed happily as she settled down beside Mottlepaw, letting her shoulder lightly brush the other she-cat in a friendly manner. The last thing she wanted was to leave Mottlepaw be with a bunch of tomcats! Though Sandpaw seemed keen to excuse herself from the group, Applepaw was not giving an inch. Rosetail warned her tomcats were nothing but a bunch of varmints when the older warriors had their eyes turned. Suspicion failed to reflect in her gaze, however, and she regarded the apprentices before her with a jovial twitch in her whiskers and a kindhearted twinkle in her eye. sunpaw bounded eagerly behind rowanclaw, his roaming mind uncaring about rookstars lack of appearance at the gathering that might give the impression of weakness. instead, the golden tom dropped into the clearing with a skid against the muddy earth under paw as he halted scanning the area for other apprentices' while ignoring rowanclaws warnings before bounding away. as he approached a gang of apprentices' sunpaw grinned brightly as he sat down beside the cat who looked blind from his sightless gaze. "hey guys! name's sunpaw." he purred before his eyes caught the sight of mottlepaw, a cat he had met before. his gaze dropped to his paws as his tail nervously coiled around his legs before he turned his attention to a sand coloured cat that caught his attention as she was excluded from the group.
"oh who's that?" he mewed before bounding off, leaving the group behind and coming to sandpaw's side. "whats up lonely?" he grinned cheekily, flicking her with his tail as he looked her up and down. a windclan cat by scent and lithe body shape, sunpaw twitched his tail. he always managed to find himself by a windclan she-cat as of late, it was as irritating to say the least; what was he? a chick magnet? it wasn't like he was a rabbit or anything. sunpaw kept his grumblings in his mind while his face stayed bright and positive as he grinned over at sandpaw. "i'm sunpaw, who are you?"
---
littlepond's heart seemed to skip a beat as he leaned close, "Maybe someday I'll show you why they call me Smokestorm, sweetheart.". instead of batting him over the ear like she ought to, the she-cats lips curled in a menacing grin as she anticipated some type of demonstration of his physical prowess, which of course; she would kick his ass. after all, he was just smokefluff. "hm, we'll see about that, won't we fuzz bucket?" she purred, uttering twoleg words he mostly wouldn't understand; not that she cared, he looked smart enough to recognise that she was teasing him quite eagerly. "Of course not darlin'. Should it?" littlepond narrowed her eyes as she stared up at the grey cat with defiance; he was two calm, she wanted him to say more, to insult her and give her a reason to hate him and yet he sat silent and uncaring after his quiet drawl of words.
"perhaps it should, but after all, thunderclan cats are known for being fans of kittypets." she purred before getting up and walking away, her tail flicking his nose as she padded elegantly away, her hips swaying to and fro in a provocative manner and a grin on her face that just dared him to follow as she glanced back before she silently took her place for the gathering as she noticed the flood of shadowclan enter the clearing; without rookstar. littlepond raised a brow then proceeded to roll her eyes as she realised that she really didn't care about the shadowclan leader right no. she sat like a greek statue of a cat, her back rolling downward with her tail coiled upward around her left leg with her pointed nose held high as she waited for smokestorm to take her bait.
---
palestar waited for the thunderclan leaders response to both herself and the windclan leader as she watched shadowclan flood in an awkward manner into the clearing before her gaze landed on rowanclaw. the regal cat narrowed her eyes as she watched him approach, her tail flicking as he spoke."Our leader Rookstar is not able to attend tonight's gathering. She has sent me in her place." palestar nodded before getting to her paws silently before dipping her head rowanclaws way. "riverclan will ask starclan tonight for her to recover from whatever prevents her from travel; the gathering should begin now." she mewed firmly. her kindness toward shadowclan only there due to the lack of aggression between the two clans; even before both her and rookstars time riverclan and shadowclan were not exactly known for quarrels.
with a flick of her tail, palestar leaped elegantly, her paws pulling her up to her perch as she waited for the leaders to join her, she looked down at the clan members mingling, her eyes landing on smokestorm and littlepond as they she cat flicked him with her tail in a flirtatious manner. palestar let out a sigh as she realised she might actually need to ask zinnianose to watch over the she-cat for a short time in case the fool made a mistake that would result in her being seen as disloyal. and then a sight she hadn't seen in moons met her eyes. palestar could have sworn she saw her sister in the crowd with other apprentices' but when her eyes focused she recognised the cat to be too young to be mapletail and without hesitating she turned her head to the other leaders before they could join her, she pounced down to land beside them. "my apologies, one moment, please." she mewed dipping her head before slipping into the crowd.
approaching the apprentices, palestar took a place beside stonepaw flicking him gently with her tail. "you lot look like a bunch of elders gossiping." the older she-cat mrrow'd with a motherly smile at the apprentices' of her own clan and the other clans. her eyes landed on applepaw for a few moments before she realised she was staring at the apprentice. "my apologies applepaw, you look like cat i knew well; mapletail. she was a windclan cat probably from around the time you were kitted was when she passed." she mewed softly. she knew she was being daring but she couldn't push away the feeling in the back of her mind that she had been lied to so she wouldn't fight mapletails mate for her kin to be in riverclan. the apprentice didn't have the shape of a typical windclan cat after all, it was strange to see her and for her not to be her niece. palestar shouldnt have come down to the apprentices' but she was a cat with curiousity and not only was she planning an attack on thunderclan she was genuinely wondering if windclan had made an enemy of her too.

hands of time DAY AFTER DAY, LIKE A LIFETIME AWAY, I KEEP HOLDIN' ON
As moonlight waned, Cherryheart's resolve to maintain her poker face grew. ShadowClan was tardy to the Gathering, and she knew their arrival would prompt a less than savory reaction. Ahead, Rowanclaw led the ranks towards Fourtrees. Though she admired his conviction, Cherryheart feared the other Clans would be ravenous for gossip. A late appearance and an absent leader would coax hunger into the fangs of the other cats, which would sink into the pelts of ShadowClan, draining them of juicy details until they were reduced to prunes. Therefore, Cherryheart was keen on appearing stoic before they reached the clearing. Already, she could hear the other Clans had already arrived, chattering like chipmunks.
The back of her mind was consumed by thoughts of Rookstar as Rowanclaw briefed them before they made their entrance. Half of her was left at ShadowClan's camp, where here leader remained. The bond she shared with Rookstar ran stronger than the river's current and deeper than the roots of the oldest of trees. Her life and purpose was invested in earning Rookstar's trust and praise. After all, it was Rookstar that trained her to be the warrior she was today. Cherryheart's dark amber eyes glinted. No one will doubt your strength while I am still breathing. Her silent vow was meant for Rookstar, but she gazed up into Silverpelt as she thought it, hoping for her starry ancestors to honor her words. Rookstar was in their paws now. Cherryheart felt her expression harden when Rowanclaw finished his announcement and followed him into the clearing. ShadowClan would hold their heads high tonight, they would make their leader proud. Cats of all ages swarmed the clearing, but Cherryheart paid them no heed. Her thoughts were still occupied by Rookstar. The pale she-cat resembled the moon above and shared its silence. Like the moon's blemished surface, Cherryheart had markings of her own. The marks on her body were not taby stripes or spots, however, they were ugly scars. The littered her pelt with fleshy streaks of pink, criss-crossing from her neck to her tail-tip. She carried herself with pride, knowing her battle-worn appearance attracted attention, for she was very young to have so many scars. Cherryheart was comforted by the thought, knowing the scars were proof of her devotion to ShadowClan. Whether or not the battles they waged were justified, she fought. Unlike other battle-hungry warriors, Cherryheart fought for the cause, not the bloodshed. If it were possible, she would not fight at all. Peace meant prosperity for the Clans and as she walked among cats she had met on the battlefield, she found tranquility knowing she would see them again on better terms. Though there was a truce, Cherryheart felt the sting of tension wafting off a couple of cats. Her amber eyes gleamed with curiosity when she saw Gingerstep of WindClan hiss at Mudfish of RiverClan, the pupils of her eyes becoming slits. It had been awhile since she had seen them, and she was not as familiar with them as she was some of the other cats, but she felt obligated to cool down their heated interaction. After all, as a warrior she was a living sanctum for the code, and it was her duty to enforce it. With her chin held high, she approached the two warriors mildly. "I sense hostility," she observed. Cherryheart's tone was astute as ever, carrying a smooth, calm lilt akin to mist rolling against still water's surface. With her expression void of emotion, the she-cat glanced at the agitated Gingerstep with a quirked brow. "I venture to ask... What has been said to cause such a passionate reaction?" Briefly, she allowed her gaze to flicker towards Mudfish, but only for a heartbeat, for she was more concerned with Gingerstep. The she-cat looked as if she wanted to claw the tomcat's nose off. Cherryheart was not about to let that happen, after all, her deputy commanded them to uphold the truce. In her mind, Cherryheart was being dutiful... as usual. xxx WORDS | | Yuno , MM , tig
