Hawkstar was, admittedly, a bit nervous. It would be his first moon leading others to the fourtrees. While he certainly had done it in the deputy position before, it wasn't actually other cats depending on him to lead. But he pulled his head high, called the clan's cats that he selected to come to the gathering, and walked through the undergrowth, not bothering for any peace speeches or anything that Applestar would've done. He wasn't one for speeches, anyway.
He really hoped that nobody would get lost, but he was sure the only one who could get lost would be wrenpaw, but he could bring her back. He hoped. It wasn't like the clans would appreciate a hold-up, but hopefully he wouldn't be seen at fault. Oh, Starclan, he really hoped he wasn't seen at fault. When he arrived at the Fourtrees, he realized he would have to perch on the tree for the first time. Wonderful. He thought he could do it. He's sat at the base and watched Applestar do it, so he was sure he could replicate. He... Hawkstar decided to wait for the other leaders first.
(Hawkstar post done~ waiting for Riverstar leader so I could post Stonepaw then. And Shadowclan leader for Maplepaw post...)

the regal she-cat moved with her usual calm grace as she led her clan through the reeds. riverclan had little news this moon, eveningblaze had a new apprentice as did many of her warriors; nothing particularly interesting. palestar had chosen warriors she believed to be suitable to represent her clan this moon. of course, zinnianose was by her side - thank starclan, hopefully she would be able to keep stonepaw and ripplepaw in line for this gathering; they would most likely be disappointed in it and the lack of gossip that would come out of it. palestar flicked her tail as she walked, most cats would be displeased in her choice of apprentice; she had chosen to bring stonepaw because she wanted the clans to see that he was more than just the 'blind apprentice'.
with an easy pounce and a flick of her tail for her warriors to follow, palestar landed in the fourtrees with a soft thud as she turned to her warriors, casting her cool blue gaze over them. oh starclan, palestar hated gatherings. she wasn't exactly eager to brag about her clan ; it should be given that riverclan was doing brilliantly but alas, she had to confirm it with simple words to please the other leaders. "as per usual, don't give away any of our secrets. watch our two apprentices' and make sure they don't start any argument." she purred with a glint of amusement in her eyes as she flicked her tail against stonepaws flank before leaning down with a hushed voice. "don't let anyone put you down because of your sight, use your ears and whiskers like you do in training and everything will work out perfectly." she stood up again as she looked around the clearing as her cats spread out.
thunderclan arrived before riverclan, clearly; she saw hawkstar sitting nervously, of course; his first gathering. palestar couldn't help but feel smug amusement at his anxieties, part of her wanted him to suffer but after the loss of applestar and wasppaw for thunderclan, it just wasn't worth more arguments, especially under the peace treaty the moon brought. hawkstar and his kin had brought more trouble for riverclan that palestar liked but, the white leader took a deep and calming break. her mind sharp once more as she padded over to hawkstar with a calm air around her, "hawkstar, congratulations on receiving your names." she mewed softly with her head held confidently as she sat beside him. it was too early to take their places for the gathering, palestar was content to speak quietly to the thunderclan leader. "once more, riverclan sends our condolences at the loss of applestar, from what we've heard from across the borders at patrols you're doing well." she smiled softly at the tabby tom.
palestar coiled her tail around her paws as she waited for the tom cats response. she knew he would be wary, of course palestar had not been waiting silently for thunderclan to find a friend in her clan; she was smart. palestar was intending to gain their trust before taking sunningrocks for the last time, it would no longer be thunderclans stolen land. but for now, palestar kept up her kind exterior; really she had nothing against hawkstar, he seemed like a genuine cat and if she wasn't leading her clan palestar would not feel the guilt that sat gnawing at her stomach about her future plans to take sunningrocks back, after all, her cats had taken applestars life not too long ago; even if it was thunderclans own fault for initiating a battle on riverclan land with false accusations only for hawkstar to turn around after his leaders death and warn them of crossing borders. looking away from the tabby tom as if it would stop her negative thoughts toward thunderclan that still resided in the back of her mind she looked for her apprentice and her eyes softened immediately as she caught sight of the grey tom.
---
littlepond walked lazily behind palestar a loud yawn escaping her maw as she padded silently. littlepond was exhausted, though it didn't dampen the flirtatious she-cats mood as she leaned in toward zinnianose with a grin. "so, is it just me or is your pelt looking especially spectacular tonight?" she purred as she matched her steps alongside her deputy. littlepond couldn't help but look at the small riverclan patrol with undisguised amusement. oh how riverclan had changed since the kittypet have originally joined, blind cats becoming warriors and a housecat already a warrior? how unlike palestar to allow for such an unusual bunch to be her warriors. surely the leader worried that they were going to look weak? littlepond was never one to care too much about what others thought of her, after all, she still called herself "kittypet" on occasion and when teased her for birthplace littlepond all but celebrated the insults with sarcastic comments and tales of the warm blankets and carpets her old housefolk used to own. "riverclan has become the clan of misfits and stray, huh?" she joked with a soft cackle as she walked beside zinnianose.
the beautiful she-cat stopped momentarily before palestar flicked her tail and the white she-cat pounced into the clearing with undisguised confidence as she slid with a smirk of excitement. she cast her eyes around the clearing with a predator glare, what tom would she choose this moon? her eyes landed on a grey tom with a perfect coat and confident stance that easily threatened her own. littlepond flicked her tail and licked her lips, "gotcha." she mewed softly before sitting down alone, placing herself perfectly so the moonlight hid her face in an appealing manner, highlight her beautiful features, lighting her high cheekbones and slim figure as she drew her tongue over her paw and brought it behind her ear. her eyes looked at the tree innocently, batting her eyelids as she attempted to look as provocative as she possibly could - and she certainly did strike interest most of the time.

Stonepaw was, quite understandably, nervous about going to the gathering. He was, first of all, blind as a bat, and second off, probably quite willing to stay. He didn't really deserve to go to a gathering, he couldn't see the cat's tension rising off their backs, or whatever usually happened according to their elders. But at his mentor- and leader's- scent walking by his side, and a whispered encouragement to use the senses that he was accustomed to to guide around. Plus, following the scents of his fellow clanmates...
...He wished that Mosspaw was here, but oh well. He walked through the riverclan territory, making sure that his scent was mixed somewhat with the others, and paused at the entrance of the clearing, letting the various mixed scents that lay here go into his nose. It was unique. He could definitely pinpoint the riverclan scent among it, but there were other, overlaying scents among them, and Stonepaw deducted that those were other clan's scents. He could smell another thunderclan apprentice, though, so he padded towards it to get in the smell of a thunderclan cat- maybe a bit too close, even.
(stonepaw done, maplepaw next post [hopefully] then i'll respond to palestar with hawkstar)

Smokestorm The grey tom padded languidly behind his leader. Oh how he loved gatherings. There were always so many beautiful she-cat around for him to flirt with. He wished Sunsplash had come. He would have been talking with her on the walk over to the fourtrees. But alas, it was not to be this time. Smokestorm held back a sigh and padded into the clearing after Hawkstar. It appeared Thunderclan was the first ones there. Perfect. Now he could watch the other clans come in and look all the she-cats over. He wondered if there would be any she-cats he knew from past gatherings. Smokestorm padded over to a spot where he would get the best view and ran his eyes over the edge of the clearing. Normally he would be flirting with she-cats from his clan but he saw them everyday. He could flirt with them anytime, but here, on this night he was able to flirt without any of them attacking him since they didn't want to make Starclan angry, so they normally had to deal with it. The tall tom chuckled quietly and then perked up at the sound of many pawsteps. They were coming from the direction of Riverclan's territory. He brightened right up. Riverclan always had pretty she-cats. Especially their leader and deputy. He purred in his mind.
Sure enough, those two were the first ones into the clearing. Smokestorm didn't get up just yet. He let his gaze roam over the cats that filed in after the two higher ups. Looked like two she-cats other than Palestar and Zinnianose. Now the grey warrior stood up, stretching, and then padded closer to the leaders. "Ah, Palestar. You are as stunning as usual. How anyone can take their eyes off of you is amazing. You simply shimmer in the moonlight." He purred, a slight smirk on his maw as he turned to the Riverclan deputy. "And Zinnianose, your fur looks softer every time I see you. Do you do that just for me love? I can barely just resist rubbing up against you to see just how soft it really is." His pale yellow eyes sparkled in the moonlight. While flirting with the two she-cats, he caught a flash of white out of the corner of his eye and couldn't help but turn his head slightly. It was one of the she-cats from Riverclan. There was something that seemed to call him to her and no, it wasn't just how gorgeous she was. After all, like called to like. Smokestorm's eyes lit up and a grin split his face. The she-cat seemed unaware of him, sitting in the moonlight, cleaning her perfect pelt, but he knew better. This was a she-cat he could get along with quite well. He turned back to the leaders of Riverclan, bowing his head with a grin. "Excuse me for just a moment ladies. But don't go anywhere, I'll be back for you." He flashed them a cheeky grin before slipping away before he could rile them up too much more. The tall, grey tom took slow steps towards the white and grey Riverclan she-cat. He set a paw in front of her....and continued right past her, his muscles rippling under his grey pelt as his tail just barely skimmed against one of her legs. He seemed to not notice as he padded towards the other cats from his clan, pausing to chat with one of them before going to sit next to Mistheart. He was facing the tree, but his ears twitched as he listened for the other clans to get there. He could always get to that she-cat later after he'd had his fun with the females from the other two clans. Smokestorm held back a smile at that thought. He would definitely get back to her before the gathering was over, even if they had to stay a few moments later than everyone else.
--- Ripplepaw
Ripplepaw was so excited for the gathering. He was so nervous that he wished Bluepaw had come with him. The young grey and white tom kept racing forward, passing the rest of the clan before being scolded and having to go back to pad with Stonepaw. Then he would be bursting with energy once more and race in front of the group. He was in the back of the group once more when they reached the fourtrees and his paws were itching. Just when he thought he couldn't wait any longer, Palestar flicked her tail and pounced into the clearing. Ripplepaw leaped forward, passing some of his clanmates, and jumped into the clearing. He saw that Thunderclan was already there, easily recognized by their earthly scents. The young tom shook out his fur and looked around, wide eyed. Sure, he had been here before when he was first made an apprentice, but it never ceased to amaze him how cool this place was with the light of the moon and stars shining down on it. Ripplepaw looked up so he could see his ancestors and accidentally tripped, landing face-first on the ground and nearly landing on Stonepaw.
Ripplepaw sat up and rubbed his nose on his front leg to get rid of the stinging feeling before looking at Stonepaw apologetically. "Sorry Stonepaw. Oh! I know! Do you want to - Whoa, look, is that Hawkstar!" The grey and white apprentice scampered away from the younger tom. Ripplepaw hadn't seen Hawkstar since before he became leader and he was curious. He slid to a stop nearby the leaders and looked up at the tabby tom with wide eyes. "Wow. What's it like being leader Hawkstar?" A grey tom smelling of Thunderclan came up and started talking strangely to Palestar and Zinnianose. Ripplepaw cocked his head at the tom but soon he was leaving again. "He's so confident! I wanna talk to him." The apprentice trotted away, following the Thunderclan warrior, completely forgetting he had been talking to Hawkstar. But then he stopped at Littlepond's side. "What are you doing Littlepond? Do you have dirt in your fur again? Why are you sitting all alone?"

Starlingstar
Starlingstar forward in his territory. He had his small group of warriors and one apprentice. That apprentice happened to be Sandpaw her loud attitude meant she was bound to get in trouble. But then again maybe it would cause some needed entertainment at the gathering. He knew that out of all the leaders there he was the oldest one. He had been to too many of these things and well he was getting tired of them. But he had hear rumors about Thunderclan's new leader and that was something the large black tom wanted to see with his own eyes. He glanced over his should at the small group he brought, Littleflame and Mintfeather were along and looking well. Windclan had a lot of new apprentices to show off, but Starlingstar thought it would be good to bring one of the more outgoing of the group. He would have brought his own apprentice Basilpaw but the large tom knew his apprentice wasn't quite ready yet. And it wouldn't be fair considering all the other apprentices could have there mentors easily accessible if something happened. Starlingstar knew that they wouldn't be the first clan there. He was getting old and well even though he had the long legs in the clan he was still starting to creek at the joints. It was worst in leafbare but it didn't mean that he couldn't put up a fight. He knew that the four trees weren't going anywhere plus the less time they had to spend there the better for him and his warriors. There was peace now but that could easy change with a flick of a tail. Stopping before the four trees he looked back at his warriors, he just scanned them over with his pale yellow eyes and said, "Remember to look out for each other as clan mates tonight." then he looked back down at the trees. "Lets head down." Then he made his way down to the four trees.Right away the breeze blew in the scents of Thunderclan and Riverclan. Shadowclan was not present but it was still quite early in the night. Starlingstar's sleek black pelt shined in the moon light and his height towers over all the other cats. He flicked his tail and he said to Littleflame, "Watch out for Sandpaw she might get into some trouble." Then Starlingstar dipped his head to his deputy and then headed to where the always stunning Palestar and it looked to be now Hawkstar were sitting. Just below the large stone where the leaders would give their speeches. He just padded on over dipping his head first to Palestar saying "Looking stunning and well as always Palestar." Starlingstar wasn't the one to suck up to leaders but Palestar has all ways been known to blown other toms off there paws. Then he turned to Hawkstar. "So the rumor on the wind has proven to be true." He knew that this was the tom's first gathering as a leader. The large black tom sat down easily his head help high. "I am sorry for the lost of Applestar, so may his spirit rest with Starclan." Then Starlingstar did not say anything more as he scanned the clearing watching his warriors interact with the other clan cats.

Gingerstep
Gingerstep padded into the clearing, her head and tail raised up with pointed pride, her eyes quickly scanning the clearing by the fortrees. She could already see many other cats in the clearing, both from Thunderclan and Riverclan, talking together, jostling around. She could see Sandpaw out of the corner of her eye, and felt a stab of jealousy and old anger. It had to be Smalltail’s apprentice that joined the gathering this moon. Not Tigerpaw. It had to be Sandpaw. She knew it was not like Tigerpaw minded much at the fact that he could not come or at the fact that Smalltail herself was not at the gathering, but still. She had trained Tigerpaw in the hope that Starlingstar would let him join the gathering. After all, she did had her first gathering when she was what? Six moons old? But she wasn’t in the position to question Starlingstar’s decision. And no cat in her clan really knew that she was salty about it.
The ginger she-cat stopped, narrowing her eyes while she picked a nice spot where she could view the highrocks. Her dull grey eyes and her ginger tan fur didn’t stick out, blending with the other cats. After all, there was nothing that really sticks out about her. She had the ugly eyes that were not even close to intense and fur that is common everywhere. All around her, cats were starting to clump together, acquaintances talking with acquaintances. She knew that a gathering was a time to socialize and learn from the cats of the other clan, but she wasn’t in the mood to joke around about prey or borders. And rats! She had wanted to show off her apprentice so badly. “This is Tigerpaw, my apprentice.” She had imagined herself saying to a Riverclan cat, while trying to not wrinkle her nose at his fishy breath. “He’s a good apprentice.” And if the Riverclan cat does have an apprentice, she can think about it later on.
She curled her tail neatly around her as she waited for the Shadowclan cats to arrive.
Redpaw
The blotched tabby cat purred with excitement as he darted around between cats, both from Windclan and Thunderclan. He half wished that his brother could come, but his brother had told him to go enjoy himself and tell him all about it when he came back. After all, his brother did came to the gathering last moon. Redpaw looked around it awe at the sight of the gigantic four oaks and the sight of the other cats around him. He didn’t know their names, not yet, but he was more than excited to start. And there were the three great leaders! Rookstar wasn’t here yet, but he could catch glimpses of Hawkstar, the majestic Palestar and the gigantic Starlingstar through the crowds of cats.
Right! He ran forward, looking around for apprentices. His brother said that the best thing about gatherings are the truce. He could learn from the other cats from other clans, and that sounded like an absolutely great idea! But where were the other apprentices? He could recall that Wrenpaw from Thunderclan was here too, but he wasn’t sure about her location at the moment, although he had originally planned to stick together with her when the gathering starts. But excitement had gotten its warm grip on him.
Would he dare to talk to one of the great leaders? Redpaw pondered on that for a second, before his eyes lighting up in excitement. Of course he would! What a story it would be for his brother and all the other apprentices. A young bold cat he was, he totally had the guts to walk right up to Palestar, and comment about her nice white pelt. He’s a nice cat, he’ll say something nice towards Starlingstar too. And then he could go with the other clan apprentices and they can chat, as long as the truce would allow it.
The red blotched tabby cat wriggled through the crowd, locating towards the leaders, where Hawkstar, Palestar and Starlingstar were standing. “Hi!” He chirped, tumbling towards them, his bright amber eyes wide with excitement. “I’m Redpaw, from Thunderclan. I’ve heard a lot about you all. You’re very, very pretty and majestic, just like the elder’s stories about you.” He said, towards Palestar, in a friendly manner before turning towards Starlingstar. “And you’re a great tom! I heard you’re a great leader too, like Hawkstar!” The tom then turned his head towards Hawkstar, his tail fluffed out with excitement, tilted his head for their reply, before he scampered off again, this time looking for other apprentices.
Halfway through the clearing, Redpaw stopped, eyeing a young looking tom that was about his age, although Redpaw was slightly larger. Redpaw could immediately sense that he was nervous, and instinctively walked up to him. He smelt of Riverclan, and looked perfectly okay, until Redpaw got a clearlook at his face. Almost immediately, Redpaw noticed that this certain apprentice was blind. But that was fine, Redpaw didn't mind. Blindness was a fact that he could easily ignore. "Hello, my name is Redpaw." The young tom said in a friendly way, introducing himself. "I'm from Thunderclan. I'm a red tabby, in case you're wondering. That's how I got my name. What's yours?"

MintfeatherMintfeather padded behind Starlingstar and Littleflame into the clearing. She was limping a little from the strain of the long walk, but it would be worse going back home. She sighed quietly at that thought but perked herself up again. She always loved gatherings. Being able to talk with cats from other clans without anyone getting angry, she loved that. The off-white, spotted she-cat glowed in the moonlight as she followed her leader and deputy up to the other leaders. It seemed everyone but Shadowclan was there already. When they got there, she stretched out her sore legs, mainly the two that had been broken, and then greeted the other felines. "Palestar, you and Zinnianose are looking good today. I hope everything is doing okay in your clan. And Hawkstar, it's good to see you. I was so sorry to hear about Applestar. He was a good cat and an even better leader." She rested her tail lightly on the young leader's shoulders to show her condolences. Her eyes were soft as she looked at the tom. "I think I remember your mate had kits a while ago. How are they doing?" She gave the tabby tom a soft smile. It had to be hard for him. It was his first gathering without Applestar.
The snow bengal she-cat glanced back at the Windclan cats. They hadn't brought as many as the other clans and Mintfeather was slightly worried about them. Gingerstep caught her eye and she noticed something seemed to be wrong. Maybe I'll talk to her in a bit if she doesn't start talking with others. Mintfeather thought. She watched the orange she-cat for a little while longer before glancing at the other cats there. Windclan's medicine cat finally brought her gaze back to the leaders and she smiled happily. "It would seem everyone is getting along nicely so far.

HAWKSTAR Hawkstar flicked his ears back, offering a shaky smile for his response to Palestar's question. " Thank you." He mewed, green eyes now going over the clearing. " I appreciate your concerns." The tabby tom didn't really get why the Riverclan leader was offering her condolences now, instead of in front of the others a moon back, but he would've done the same, due to his inherent nervousness. Then Smokestorm started to flirt with the other leader, and Hawkstar flicked an ear in annoyance. Would this warrior ever take things a bit more seriously during this gathering? " ...Smokestorm is always like that." Hawkstar meowed, hoping it would make things better for Palestar's reaction. Starlingstar came next, and offered his words, as well. Hawkstar smiled slightly, still sort of feeling the loss of his old mentor and leader, but he stuffed that feeling down. " May his spirit rest in Starclan." Hawkstar repeated, watching as one of the apprentices he took to the gathering, Redpaw, started to talk about the other elder leaders. As Redpaw rushed off, Hawkstar simply lay his tail beside him, watching the gathering once more. He really didn't know what to say, so maybe he would let one of the other cats start the conversation again. That was when Mintfeather walked up to him, and offered her words as well, and he let his tail tip twitch slightly. At the word of his mate, though, he let a smile cross his face. " They're doing fine. I have two kits now, Lotuskit and Duskkit." He didn't understand where the name Lotus came from, but it seemed like his mate liked it. He let his gaze drop back to the other cats, nodding after Mintfeather's other words.
STONEPAWStonepaw was trying to check out the scents of the thunderclanners when someone greeted him from his left. He jumped slightly, and turned towards the other apprentice's voice. "Oh, hello." He whispered, before gulping and letting himself speak louder, "Hello." He listened as the other kit introduced himself, and described his appearance to Stonepaw. This other cat knew he was blind because of his eyes, wasn't he? But at least he didn't immediately jump on it. "I'm Stonepaw, apparently named because of my fur-color, too." Would the other cat make fun of him after the introductions were over? Stonepaw really didn't want that to be the case. The Thunderclan apprentice was giving him a good idea of what other thunderclanners would smell like, but Redpaw had a little neat twist to it.
"...Nice to meet you." He mewed, after a little pause.

riverclan ❀ zinnianose ❀ deputyzinnianose entered the clearing belonging to the four trees with pride in her walk. she took long strides besides palestar, carrying herself with none other than pride for her clan and a sharp gaze, scanning the cats that had already arrived. she recognized the thunderclan cats and scoffed to herself, disappointed that they'd arrived first. she was rather judgmental of the other clans, but she would keep all unkind words to herself tonight. she knew that it wouldn't do her any good to go insulting another cat while they were gathered beneath the moon in a time of peace. she could hear palestar whispering something in her ear, and a smile creeped upon her face, golden eyes glimmering with amusement. "of course, palestar, don't you worry any. i'll make sure they don't get into trouble," she purred, her gaze sweeping over the two apprentices behind them. she wasn't sure how stonepaw would do, being blind, so she would try to stay close to him and make sure that nothing happened to him. she felt a little protective over the tom, at times, despite not being all that close to him. her clan was dear to her. zinnianose trailed after palestar as she approached the leaders, staying only a taillength or two behind her. she said nothing to hawkstar. her ears twitched as she heard another familiar voice, turning to face none other than littlepond. zinnianose twitched her whiskers. she wasn't very fond of the kittypet-turned-warriors, especially not one who held little concern for the code. zinnianose was a rule enforcer, she was the deputy. as she only half-listened to what littlepond had to say, she felt a slight burn under her pelt at the flirting, but all of that quickly turned cold at her next comment, calling riverclan the clan of misfits and stray. "not all of us were born soft," she said, with the slightest hint of sourness to her tone. she felt relieved when she saw the warrior slink off on her own. just when she thought she'd managed to get away from trouble, she heard her name spoken. it was a thunderclan tom, speaking to her. speaking... awful things. her eyes narrowed into thin slits, and her fur bristled slightly. "you ought to remember who you're talking to, tom," she said, wrinkling her nose. "or do you not remember what loyalty is?" thank starclan he's gone, she thought frustratedly when he, too, disappeared into the mix of cats. now will i catch a break? or am i going to see a medicine cat flirting with an apprentice next?!
speaking of medicine cats, she blinked, when she saw that windclan was beginning to infiltrate the clearing. she automatically recognized mintfeather, and she relaxed a little. she liked the windclan medicine cat, she seemed reasonable enough, and much more tolerable than... some cats, despite belonging to another clan. her fur lay flat on her skin, and zinnianose spared the silver she-cat a smile. "hello, mintfeather," she meowed. "riverclan is doing just fine, thank you. i hope windclan is having the same luck as we have this greenleaf!"ooc: so many responses x___x" tag: Kuwaki Minteh Freshness

Traveling with her clanmates to fourtrees was rather uneventful, but it normally was. The lithe deputy had walked amongst her clanmates and chatted with a few of them here or there, her mind was focused on the gathering ahead. Before, she had only been a warrior following the lead of Applestar and Hawkstar, then Hawkear. Now, she was the deputy. Being deputy came with responsibilities she might not have otherwise had. Sunsplash looked at Hawkstar, he was probably just as nervous as she was, the deputy realized, after all he now had to sit on the rock with the other leaders.
Reaching the clearing first meant Sunsplash had time to prepare herself for if and when she had to speak with the other deputies. It was long until Riverclan arrived, with Windclan arriving not long afterwards. Sunsplash was standing near the leaders wondering if she should go over and join the conversation and she had the perfect view for when Smokestorm decided flirting with the riverclan leader, Palestar. Seeing this was mortifying, what was Smokestorm thinking? Sunsplash wondered, flirting with the leader of another clan? It was a relief to see him soon leave to pester other she-cats from the other clans.
Okay, so maybe joining the conversation with the leaders would trouble Hawkstar who already had to apologize for Smokestorm's behavior. Sunsplash then noticed Mintfeather and Zinnianose. Sunsplash decided that would be a good start, talking to one of the other deputies. Having Mintfeather there wasn't bad either, so the brightly colored she-cat made her way over to the two. As she padded over, Sunsplash was already trying to figure out what to say. She thought it should be something simple, something polite. "Hello Mintfeather, Zinnianose." she meowed reaching the riverclan deputy and the windclan medicine cat. Her greeting was accompanied by a respectful nod to the medicine cat, and a dip of her head to the riverclan deputy, "I hope you won't mind my joining your conversation."
Surely Starlingstar, Littleflame and all of the other warriors were worried about Sandpaw causing a scene, of that much Mottlepaw was positive. That was fine with the young apprentice, it meant they would be watching her sister more than herself. This meant Mottlepaw could do whatever she wanted. Well, not really. Mottlepaw knew she'd get in heaps of trouble if she ended up causing a scene or did something stupid. She wasn't overly worried about it, instead she was just very excited to be attending her first gathering. It took a lot of willpower not to race past her clanmates once they arrived, instead she strolled into the clearing behind the windclan warriors, searching the faces of the other clans.
The small she-cat wanted to find the apprentices from the other clans and introduce herself. Or show off, hopefully the other apprentices she met would have just been named apprentices like herself, that would make things much easier. Spotting two apprentices, Mottlepaw decided they would be her 'targets.' They looked young like her. The scrawny windclan apprentice imagined herself strutting over and acting all cool, but that was far from reality. Mottlepaw barreled over, nearly ramming into the red tabby. "Whoops! Sorry! I nearly ran into you! I'm Mottlepaw!" the young she-cat meowed, steeping back so she wasn't right up in the other twos face. She was just in time to hear Stonepaw's introduction and the fact that he was named for his fur color, "I was named Mottlepaw because of my fur pattern, obviously." It wasn't until after she was done speaking, that she figured out why they were doing that. "Oh wait, are you blind?" She asked the Riverclan apprentice.
Oh gatherings, the bane of Redfall's existence. The awkward red tom hated coming to gatherings for many reasons. The first, was the fact that Redfall was very aware of how awkward he was. He was clumsy and could easily trip over his own two paws if he weren't paying close enough attention. The bulky riverclan tom made his way through the gathering crowd towards the back, being very careful not to run into anyone. He was always afraid he'd bump into another cat or step on somecat's tail, so Redfall typically hung to the back at first so he wouldn't accidentally step on some cat. hazel eyes scanned the crowd, looking for a friendly face. He knew he could always join one of his own clanmates, but Redfall was unsure of the whole conversing part of a gathering. It wasn't just his paws that were clumsy, Redfall knew he was never good when it came to conversations. He just never knew what to say.
Redfall found a good spot to sit, and began to observe the other cats at the gathering. Shadowclan wasn't there yet, but Windclan and Thunderclan were. He noticed Stonepaw talking with a thunderclan apprentice, that was a good thing. He knew the blind apprentice was shy, and was a little worried about how he'd do at a gathering. The bulky tom's attention drifted away from the apprentices, watching the other cats. Seeing as Palestar had asked everyone to keep an eye on the apprentices, Redfall made sure he could still see Stonepaw out of the corner of his eye. If Redfall wasn't going to force himself to join a conversation, the least he could do was look out for his younger clanmates.
occ || Finally got a post in! While Sunsplash and Mottlepaw are fine, Redfall isn't going to make an active effort to start any conversations himself. He is too worried about being awkward and not knowing what to say. Yep. That's Redfall in a nutshell.

redpaw
"i'm stonepaw, apparently named because of my fur-color, too. Nice to meet you." Redpaw purred, sitting down while tucking his tail around his legs, as he patiently waited for the other cat to continue speaking. “First gathering?” The red tabby tom asked conversationally while bending forward to give stonepaw a quick curious sniff, smelling the salty tang of fish and river. “It’s my first gathering too. My mentor isn’t really here, to be honest. He’s back at camp. Who’s your mentor?” The tom glanced back towards the direction where the clan leaders were conversing, before turning back his attention on Redpaw. It seems that Windclan has arrived to the gathering, leaving Shadowclan as the last clan to reach the clearing.
“We should get a better spot before it’s all take--!” His words were cut off when a calico Windclan she-cat barreled right into him. “whoops! Sorry! I nearly ran into you! I’m mottlepaw!” Redpaw chuckled, his eyes gleaming as he studied the new cat up and down. She was a breezy one, an energetic individual. “I’m redpaw and this here, is my friend stonepaw.” Redpaw replied, waving his paw over to his new pal, before scooting over to give the she-cat some space. She carries the smell of the moors, rabbit and wind.
He purred as Mottlepaw immediately engaged herself right into the conversation. She seemed like a pretty cool Windclan cat, sort of like the other apprentices in his clan. “Oh wait, are you blind?” The question fell down like a pin missile. Almost immediately Redpaw sensed that he needed to butt in. “Of course he is, silly.” He said, nudging Mottlepaw on the shoulder. “But the elders in the clan said that blindness increases the other senses. So Stonepaw here knows exactly how many fish is going to be waiting for him in the fresh-kill pile before he even enters camp. Right?” With this, he glanced back at his Riverclan friend, his last words said in plain triumph, hoping that he could end the awkwardness.

STONEPAW Stonepaw nodded at Redpaw's first question, and sort of sighed with relief at the other tom being new to gatherings, as well. Stonepaw found himself a little fond of Redpaw for actually talking a bit for him. " My mentor? My mentor is..." Stonepaw let his ears go down on his head, a little embarrassed, ". ..Palestar..." He didn't know how the other cat would react. Jealousy? Envy? But that was soon interrupted by him smelling a moor-like scent, then someone else barreling into Redpaw. When the other she-cat started to talk and Redpaw moved over, Stonepaw hummed. He nudged a bit closer to Redpaw for feeling safer. At the question of blindness, the tortoiseshell grit his teeth, blinking his eyes. It was obvious, wasn't it? Why was it a big deal, other than the fact that he'll never know what anyone else looks like, or what tail signals do, or where the fish are in the river? Redpaw instantly jumped to his defense, and Stonepaw let his ears relax slightly. He doesn't mind at all. At Redpaw's bragging of him being able to tell how many fish were in the fresh-kill pile, Stonepaw tried to smile. " I may not be at that point yet, but I might be close?" He felt better saying that, even if it wasn't how his skill actually was. He was just barely an apprentice, too! But he did notice how his scenting skills were a bit better than his sister's... " Nice to meet you too, Mottlepaw." He said, bowing his head slightly. He let his eyes close slightly, to make it a bit more obvious to any other joining cats that he couldn't see. He already liked Redpaw a bit better than Mottlepaw, but maybe that was because she asked a bit insensitively and it reminded him of Leafpaw... OOC || It's short but shoot now even redpaw's player is shipping the two. Stonepaw might already be crushing a little : )

It was finally time for Mudfish’s first gathering. Ever. Yep, the chocolate tom had never attended a single full moon meeting even in his abnormally long apprenticeship. This was because Whiterose deemed it a good enough punishment (for existing, probably) as well as the fact that she didn’t want him to sully the name of the clan with his bullheaded antics. Well, those days were more or less behind him now, and Mudfish’s paws and maw itched with excitement as he listened to Palestar say her part. After nodding with the vigour of someone who didn’t particularly feel like paying too much attention, Mudfish snapped his attention to take in his novel surroundings. Ah, Fourtrees. It was a wonder actually seeing the place in real life. The way the moonlight illuminated everything with a touch of white instead of sun-bright yellow was amazingly beautiful, although Mudfish would trade it in to see the moon sparkling and dancing on the river instead in a heartbeat. There was no beating the way water reflected light…but that was a subject to wax poetic about for another time. He saw the bodies of strangers slinking this way and that, mingling and making small talk. Fourtrees was positively lit with new scents, and Mudfish gave up trying to disentangle everyone’s individual smell after a few moments. Best to really get in there and wrestle a name for each one. Who knows, he might even pick up a juicy tidbit or two. Never one to be unsure on his feet, Mudfish simply padded where his heart told him to, wandering here and there, ears snatching up shreds of conversation like paws scooping up fish. The tom let out a personal little mew of amusement when he saw Redfall sitting off to the side like some hulk of a guardian, albeit an awkward one. He dipped his head in distant greeting to the senior warrior, but wasn’t too fussed if Redfall didn’t see him. Then he saw Stonepaw seeming to get on with, what was that scent?, a ThunderClan apprentice by the looks of it. That was good. Mudfish hoped that their blind lil furball would have an enjoyable time experiencing a gathering while he was still young. Eventually Mudfish spotted a small ginger she-cat sitting by herself and, tail kinked good-naturedly, weaved his way towards her. As he drew closer, he tried to place her smell and took a stab at WindClan, hoping that he was right. I mean, she looks like she could be a fast cat? That physique…takin’ her size into consideration ‘n all…actually is she a warrior or an apprentice? Mudfish winced to himself, knowing that he should probably avoid making a faux pas so early in the night. I’ll just be vague about it. It’s not like we’re expected to know any cat’s name anyway.‘Nice night, ain’t it?’ meowed Mudfish, making the statement pointedly enough at the she-cat so that she would know he was addressing her. ‘This is the first time I’ve been to a gatherin’ so I’m goin’ by what I was told to do, ya know? Mix and mingle,’ His tone was light and as laid-back as the cat himself. Mudfish remained standing, but his posture was inviting enough (left enough ambiguity for him to make a run for it if his instincts said to). ‘The name’s Mudfish from, well, you could probably guess the clan from that, huh? Pleasure,’

palestar watched as starlingstar approached and dipped her head at the older tom. now they only waited for shadowclan to arrive as everyone sent their condolences hawkstars way for applestar. everyone congratulating applestars memory as a brilliant leader and all palestar could think of was how he made the wrong choice in listening to hawkstar disillusioned kin as he led his attack that brought his death. yes, he was brilliant leader, but in palestars eyes he was still foolish and his death was unnecessary but the regal leader hid her disdain for the deceased cat with calm and focused eyes as she watched hawkstar accept their words. and then a new irritation approached.
smokestorm, confident and his usual flirtatious self as he pranced over to herself and zinnianose with an air of confidence around him that palestar actually envied in the young warrior; he was a good cat and although he struggled to remember his place it was clear he was a good and loyal warrior who never meant ill with his flirtatious words. "Ah, Palestar. You are as stunning as usual. How anyone can take their eyes off of you is amazing. You simply shimmer in the moonlight." the white leader let out a snort of amusement as he continued to compliment her deputy. her blue eyes danced with amusement as she watched zinnianoses expression change almost instantaneously. "tell me something i don't know, smokestorm." she tossed a grin his way with good humour after zinnianose scolded him. as smokestorm vanished into a sea of cats, palestar flicked her tail against zinnianoses back in a form of comfort at the grey cats boldness.
palestar was very aware of how stuck into rules and how the deputy was far more serious than herself, she didn't approve of palestars acceptance of littlepond and kittypets who have become brilliant assets of the clan. even though palestar and zinnianoses' views didn't line up perfectly, palestar believed that her choice in deputy tamed her own choices and opinions when it came to leading her clan. then words drew her away from her thoughts as a small red apprentice approached; “I’m Redpaw, from Thunderclan. I’ve heard a lot about you all. You’re very, very pretty and majestic, just like the elder’s stories about you.”. palestar gave him a kind smile as she dipped her head, "thank you very much. you have the makings of a fine warrior redpaw, all the best in the moons of training to come." she mewed softly and then watched with amusement has he moved on to compliment starlingstar and palestar couldn't help but muffle her chuckle as she waited for the gruff toms response to kind words.
"ah mintfeather, it's good to see you. all is well with riverclan, i hope windclan is having such luck this fine green leaf." she dipped her head as a purr rumbled in her chest. like any other cat, palestar was fond of the windclan medicine cat. "i'm sure eveningblaze is excited to talk to you about his new apprentice." she purred before turning her head to listen to hawkstar speak of his kits with fondness that the riverclan cat was envious of. "kits are a blessing, i wish them all the best in their future and the best of health.", the palestar turned her head as her eyes narrowed at littlepond who was looking a little too fondly at smokestorm, with the both of them being so flirtatious she had a feeling this wouldn't end well for thunderclan and riverclan. she watched with concern as they she-cat approached the grey tom. great, more things to keep an eye on.
---
the beautiful white riverclan she-cat watched out of the side of her eyes as the handsome tom moved past her, his tail lightly brushing past her paws as he did so. littlepond turned and narrowed her eyes at the grey tom cat and in irritation, her tail lashed only for her thoughts to be disturbed by an apprentice as they approached her, ripplepaw. "What are you doing Littlepond? Do you have dirt in your fur again? Why are you sitting all alone?" littlepond let out a fond snort as she cuffed the younger cats ear gently with her paw. "when has my pelt ever been nothing but perfect, eh?" she grinned her usual lopsided grin as she looked down at the smaller cat. "a better question would be, why are you trailing after an over confident thunderclan cat?" she tilted her head with a raised brow as though she was about to scold him. as she got to her paws littlepond flicked her tail in the direction of stonepaw who was surrounded by other apprentices'. "go talk to some apprentices', and i'll go stop being lonely." and with that, she left the apprentices' side.
littlepond moved elegantly toward smokestorm, her hips swaying to a fro in an alluring manner as the sunlight cast flattering shadows down upon of her face. "don't you think it's rude to ignore a lady after you flick her with your tail?" she challenged, pushing at his shoulder with her own in an abrupt greeting. her blue eyes looked the grey tom up and down and nodded in approval at his appearance before sitting down in front of him to prevent him from looking at any other cat but her. littlepond wanted his attention just a much as he tried to pretend he didn't want hers. the white she-cat drew her long tail around her paws, flicking his paws with the tip of her tail with a challenging light in her eyes as she grinned up at him.
"name's littlepond, but you can call me miss, if you'd like to make up for being so rude earlier." she drawled through a slow purr as she admired the toms physique. he was taller than her with perfectly grey fur that looked soft to the touch, pale yellow eyes that she could stare at for moons just to convince herself that eyes could even be such a beautiful colour. littlepond kept her gaze with him steady as she mentally scolded herself; she shouldn't have found herself so attracted to this confident tom and yet here she was, mentally fawning over this grey thunderclan cat and breaking the warrior code. even though the warrior code wasn't something she truly believed in, after her encounter earlier with zinnianose she didn't want to give the deputy more ammo to dislike her with.
and the littlepond thought, screw it. i don't believe in these dead star cats either, she was loyal to her clan and could appreciate beauty no matter what clan they were; "what's your name then, cute stuff?" she grinned.
