☀ Hawkstar ☀
name: Hawkkit- Hawkpaw - Hawkear - Hawkstar
gender: male
age: 32
clan: thunderclan
position: leader
short description: Hawkstar is a brown cat with black tabby stripes and some orange tint to his fur. Has green eyes. Could be Tigerstar's descendant.
appearance:
Hawkstar is a quite slender cat for a leader that has gone through many years of being a warrior, but that is the way he is. His fur is mainly brown, with dozens of black tabby markings splashed around his body and face. The tips of his ears actually have a tuft of fur sticking up from it, and it is also black in color. The rest of his ears are slightly orange, along with part of his muzzle. Part of his hind legs are also orange in color. His face is a little fluffy, but it does not detract from the serious look that is on his face most of the day. It is said he looks like a tiger from the legends, but he doesn't see that in himself. His tail is actually shorter than other cats.
personality:
Hawkstar isn't a courageous leader, leading his clan into battle all times of the day. Instead, he keeps his risk-taking to a minimum, something picked up from his kit days where foxes could gobble him up easily. He's kind towards others, being curious about how others interact and how far he could take this 'leader' thing. He can control his emotions in front of the clan, and is usually caring towards the small ones in the clan if they come to him. However, he isn't very trusting of those outside of the clan, having those that come from outside the clan have to earn his trust with training, usually from him. He can cover his tracks up with his lying, which he has crafted ever since his apprentice days. He is very loyal to his own clan, as well, often trying to react peacefully for said clan.
He is actually a very romantic person, falling in love easily with others. He is affectionate towards those he is in love with, so much so that even his lying can't get him out of any affectionate situations. He tries his best to sympathize with his clan's problems, but sometimes he fails. He's trying his best to lead when he just got promoted to leader. He is observant of the changes around his clan, and optimistic about the future, no matter how illogical it may seem. He very much holds the future in high regards. He is socially shy, so yeah being a deputy for a few years really helped him build up speaking to others in wide groups.
history:
Hawkstar, like all the cats here, started as Hawkkit, a small, brown tabby. He had two sisters, Waspkit and Tawnykit, who were both a lot more golden than he was. They were also a lot more outgoing than a young Hawkkit was, constantly interacting with the other kits in the nursery during greenleaf while Hawkkit huddled against his mother. However, Tawnykit was the best sibling he could ask for, constantly asking him to play around and getting him to face off against his fears. Hawkkit would remember this for moons to come. Hawkkit, Tawnykit, and Waspkit were all apprenticed the same day, since all the siblings were generally not troublemakers and did not get injured. Hawkkit made sure that his siblings didn't get hurt, and was their voice of reason, especially as a not-risk-taking cat.gender: male

history:
His apprenticeship was also not really anything noteworthy, at first. He was a good fighter, but he was an even better hunter, which was the opposite of his siblings, which were amazing at learning the fighting moves but a bit clumsy when it came to hunting well. Hawkpaw was part way into his 10th moon, however, when he thought he heard cats scratching on the other side of the sunningrocks. However, Tawnypaw and his mentor thought he was imagining the scratches of small mice as enemy riverclan cats, so they ignored him and moved on. However, Hawkpaw was slow to go after them, and actually heard a whisper of 'are they gone yet' on the winds. When he reported this to his mentor, they grew worried and doubled back on their patrol to find riverclan cats going over the sunningrocks.
His Mentor immediately called for action, and most of the warriors that Hawkpaw knew, plus the leader and deputy, went into battle to fight for the sunningrocks. Hawkpaw, however, wasn't a good fighter quite yet, so he had to stay behind and hope that his sisters were safe. Tawnypaw, being the good fighter she was, actually made it through the battle. However, his other sister, Wasppaw, had drowned that day. Hawkpaw was frightened, and he swore to himself that he would beg for answers at the next gathering. While he actually was unable to go to the next gathering, having gone last moon, Tawnypaw went instead. She reportedly had disrupted the gathering begging for why riverclan had drowned wasppaw, and riverclan said they didn't, she drowned herself.
Hawkpaw didn't really like this. He tried to stay in control of his emotions, but swore to live for his little sister. Hawkpaw trained his listening skills from then on, becoming an even more skilled hunter and tried to be better at fighting. His assesement day went and passed, and he gained his warrior name: Hawkear, for the good hearing skills he had and for the hearing helping thunderclan drive back riverclan from the sunningrocks. From there, he served his vigil, and his hearing guaranteeing that the clan really was safe. His remaining sister became Tawnytail, because of her supreme balance when fighting, even with another cat on her back.
From his 12th moon forward, Hawkear and Tawnytail decided to stick together. Tawnytail tried to push her brother into social situations, but his shyness from a kit had remained to his warriorhood. Tawnytail, soon after becoming a warrior, got an apprentice as well, and while Hawkear went without, he was a loyal one for his clan, typically listening out for riverclan at the sunningrocks and sticking to the rules he was raised with. His previous mentor went on to become deputy after the previous one died of old age, and took over for the leader soon after they died, as well, becoming Applestar.
Hawkear was 22 moons when Applefur became Applestar, and was appointed deputy soon after finishing training with his own apprentice. Due to his sudden promotion to deputy, Tawnytail was even more eager to teach him ways to interact with others, and Hawkear finally was able to adapt to talking to others 4 moons into his deputyship. He still preferred to just quietly support, though.
6 moons into his deputyship, he noticed a rather pretty she-cat in the clan, a cat by the name of Patchmist, and he wanted to speak to her. They didn't really hit it off right away, what with Hawkear's shyness and Patchmist's dislike of interacting with others, but once they did find a common ground, being good at hunting and their good looks, they did start up on a relationship, just to see how far it could go.
Even more moons passed. Tawnytail repeatedly reported to her brother that his relationship was sickenly sweet, especially since both Patchmist and Tawnytail were also friends and constantly talked to each other, and the topic of him had cropped up constantly. Applestar was constantly joking to Hawkear about it, as well, much to the shyer cat's embarrasement. Soon, another battle had cropped up, this time with Shadowclan, as they had swiped some prey inside their borders. That was the battle that had claimed Applestar's last life, much to the shock of both sides. After finishing the fight, with a stern word about border watching, Hawkeye went back with his clan to the clan camp, and mourned the loss of a great mentor and leader, and actually dreaded having to take over for leader.
Tawnytail encouraged her brother to take the lead, since he would be comfortable leading the way he wanted to now, and gave him the news that Patchmist was pregnant with his kits, probably hoping it would bring up his spirits. It sort of did, but he still dreaded journeying. But he did so, hoping to make his new leadership a good one, and appointed sunsplash once he got back as Hawkstar, remembering that she had been training a second apprentice by then.
Hawkstar has been leading for one moon, and very much appreciates Sunsplash's help in his leadership. Hawkstar has a few riverclan pals now, despite dreading riverclan fights because of the sunningrocks fight that killed Wasppaw.
