appearance:
basilpaw has shortish medium length fur that is pure white in color. however, it is often dirtied because of how he is constantly tumbling and tripping in dirt and sand. he has a roundish body with odd edges at his shoulders and hips, and tiny paws. he has large ears, his left one dysfunctional, and a fluffy tail with fur longer than the rest of his body. his cheek fur sticks up slightly, giving his face a slightly rounder appearance than it really is. his white fur is feathery and soft.
his legs are regular sized, but his paws are small - despite this, he constantly trips over them. he has big, round eyes that are a soft basil green color, and a faint, faded, pale pink nose. he has long whiskers extending from his face. his shoulders and hips protrude slightly from the rest of his body, edgy and sharp, rather than soft and rounded. he is very grateful for this part of his appearance. his tail gets fluffier and fluffier as it gets closer to the edge.
he has a large scar stretching across his nose, and another mini clawmark on his mouth that parts when he speaks.
personality:
skittish & sensitive. basilpaw can be described as a bit of a nervous-wreck. he is very wary and paranoid of others, with one of his worst fears constantly infiltrating his typically optimistic mindset - being seen by others as a she-cat. he is also very nervous in general, easy to scare and sensitive to others. it is very easy to hurt his feelings.
clumsy. basilpaw is not very good on his feet. while he is fast - he is maybe a little too fast for his own good. the tom is constantly tripping over his paws when he's running, tumbling across the moors. it's not basilpaw if he's not limping into the clearing with a bruised leg or sore paw! he is not very good at calculating jumps - lucky him, not having to climb trees - but this is become better with age.
submissive. he is a very submissive cat, unable to defend himself from others quite well. he is afraid of fighting - this will become better with age - and tends to give up very easy. he can be bossed around like there's no tomorrow, and he can be convinced into doing the wrong thing, even if he disagrees with it, because of how easily manipulated he is.
eager & willing. basilpaw feels like he has to prove himself to everyone he meets. he wants to impress them, and so he has an eager and willing attitude, always wanting to try new things if it means improving himself and turning himself into a better cat for whoever he's trying to impress.
compassionate. he feels strongly for everyone he meets, and has trouble seeing the wrong in others, even if he knows that he has been treated unkindly by someone. he believes there is good in everyone. he often tries comforting others, wanting to provide a friend for someone to confide in. however, he is not the best at giving advice.
optimistic. he tries to see the good in every situation, which is a part of his compassionate side. he tries to give things a brighter turn when things start heading dark, though he can be rather awkward about it.
history:
basilkit was born as the only child of gorsepelt (a white she-cat with yellow eyes) and blizzardwing (a light gray tom with green eyes), originally thought by the entire clan to be a she-cat. as he grew, though, he seemed to flinch when called a she-cat, always shying away from conversations as soon as he was referred to as a "she" or "her" or "she-cat." he had nobody to talk these feelings out with, and was afraid of telling his parents how he didn't feel like a she-cat, how he felt like a tom.
soon, he worked up enough courage to be able to tell them. the conversation was not good for the kit - when he finally told his parents, his father actually struck out at him, his claws hooking his nose and mouth and stinging like nothing basilkit had ever felt. blizzardwing was immediately exiled from the clan. basilkit felt cornered by his mother, who was not any better - she forced a smile and told him that he would always be a she-cat, he was not a tom. she was unkind to him, but never struck out like his father did. she blamed him for blizzardwing's exile, and not blizzardwing's disrespect and temper.
basilkit became very untrusting and skittish around other cats. eventually, he spilled to a warrior - his mother was still being neglectful to him. she did not take care of him, she was unkind to him, she made him feel worthless. not soon after, he was horrified to find his mother exiled as well. the tom was alone, but at least he was now being accepted as a tom.gender: male (trans)

basilkit soon received his ceremony, and told himself that he would be as positive as possible, and not let others know how he really felt inside. he figures he will soon find a friend he can trust with his thoughts and emotions, but for now, he wants to let others know he is a positive tom with great things to offer as a friend.
