body || For a maine coon, Coalpaw is actually pretty small. Even though he is a young apprentice, he is only the size of a normal young warrior. When he gets older and becomes a warrior, he will only be the size of a large warrior, which will be quite small for his breed. Coalpaw also isn't quite as stocky as a lot of other Shadowclan cats. He has large paws, long legs, and a thinner body beneath all his fur. He almost looks like he would do better as a Windclan cat with his body structure. Even with his lankier body, he doesn't have the lithe muscles of a Windclan cat, he has strong muscles from padding through muddy ground, which he does to make himself stronger.
coat || Coalpaw also doesn't have the longer fur that comes with being a maine coon. His fur length is medium in most places but is longer on his chest, belly and tail. His pelt is thick and fluffy, especially around his neck and belly, which is a pain to keep clean and soft, though somehow he manages.
coloring || Coalpaw has ink black fur that easily blends in shadows. Every single part of him is this inky black except for his belly and sides where the longer fur is. This longer area goes from inky black near his skin and towards the ends it goes to grey and then almost to a silver color at the tips. It actually helps him blend in better in the shadows. His nose, paw pads, and claws are all pitch black.
eyes || The one splash of color on him, if you don't count the silver/grey tips of his fur, is his silver eyes. In the moonlight, they almost seem to turn white. Coalpaw's eyes are big and round, giving him an innocent look which can sometimes throw other cats off.

~Loyal~ (somewhat)
Coalpaw is loyal only to his clan, and to just a few of his clanmates who he believes has earned his loyalty. This young tom will do anything to make his clan better. But that is as far as his loyalty goes. He doesn't believe in Starclan. He thinks the clan made up of their starry ancestors is just made up so other cats can feel secure like a kit with it's mother watching out for it. He feels no loyalty for any other clan cats or any other cats in general. Coalpaw thinks all other cats are inferior to Shadowclan. There are even some cats in his clan that he thinks are inferior and that the leader should get rid of them. The only ones who should be in Shadowclan are the ruthless ones, the ones who would do anything to keep Shadowclan on top.
~Serious~
Coalpaw never smiles and actually almost never has any expression on his face unless it is a scowl, but when he has a blank or stony expression, he looks innocent because of his facial features. They just make him look innocent. Coalpaw doesn't seem to think that having fun will get anything done. He believes that you have to work all the time to make yourself better and stronger. There is no time to play and have fun. It's ridiculous. With his big eyes and seemingly innocent expression, cats tend to try to come up to him to talk or play and then he doesn't say anything and he narrows his eyes into a glare with a scowl to match and the cat normally end up scampering away. This has happened with kits and other apprentices quite often.
~Temperamental~
Coalpaw has a temper but it's not one that flares to life as soon as you make him angry. No, this temper is like a burning coal (no pun intended) inside of him and he stokes the fires until it becomes a white hot rage. Then, when he finds the perfect time to get you back, he will and it will be much worse than what you did to him. He absolutely never forgives and never forgets. So it would be wise not to make him mad. Ever.
~Ambitious~
Coalpaw wants to become the best warrior in Shadowclan. And by doing that, he would have to become leader and he would have to make himself the strongest and fastest cat in the clan. Once he becomes leader, which he is confident he will, he will make Shadowclan the strongest clan in the forest. Then, he'll get rid of the other clans and only keep cats that will be loyal to him and will help make his clan even stronger. He wants to know how other clans fight so he can copy their fighting style so they can never get the upper paw and he will always win. (He has big dreams x3 )
~Distrustful~
Coalpaw is naturally distrustful of everyone. At least until they earn his trust or his loyalty. One cat he is extremely distrustful of is Rowanclaw. There is just something about the other tom that he does not like; more than likely it is the older tom's ability to get everyone to do his bidding, and how confident and sarcastic he is. Plus, Coalpaw doesn't take orders well, especially from the deputy.
Coalpaw is very distrustful of loners, rogues, and kittypets, though he has noticed that some rogues would work well in his future clan.

Coalkit was born to Tawnyheart, a calico half maine coon she-cat, and Shadefang, a black and white maine coon tom. He had a sister, Bramblekit, who was tabby and white. Before he was even a moon old, his father left the clan to become a rogue. When Coalkit and Bramblekit were 3 moons old, their father came back and killed his mate and daughter and nearly killed Coalkit before some warriors stopped him. The other warriors had to kill Shadefang so he wouldn't hurt anyone else, but before he died, Coalkit had seen a crazy look in his father's eyes. Coalkit spent a while in the medicine cat's den but he was back in the nursery before he turned 4 moons old. Another queen tried to take him in but he became distant and cold. He started to watch everything quietly and he started to think more. Before long, he had a plan in his mind to become leader and get rid of all the weak cats in the clan, like his father had been. Then he started to think bigger, dreaming of getting rid of every single weak cat in the clans and the surrounding areas. He would build a new Shadowclan, one that would rule the forest. As he watched the clan, he noticed something about Rowanclaw. Somehow the confident and sarcastic cat was getting everyone to do what he wanted. One could think it away with saying it was because the tom was deputy but there seemed to be something else about it to Coalkit and he didn't like it. This is where his distrust of the older tom comes into play.

Coalkit became Coalpaw at 6 moons old. As soon as he became an apprentice, he started doing everything he could to make himself stronger and faster. He made himself tackle anything he put his mind to and when he first learned something he wouldn't stop until he mastered it and maybe even made it better. He is always pushing himself to his limit, sometimes even pushing himself past it. He also tries to push other cats into working harder because he wants Shadowclan to become the best clan.
