☀ Snowdawn ☀
NAME: Snowkit - Snowpaw - Snowdawn
GENDER: female
AGE: 29 moons
CLAN: Windclan
POSITION: Queen
SHORT DESCRIPTION: A lynx pointed cream colored cat with brilliant blue eyes.
APPEARANCE:
Body Structure: Snowdawn is slightly fluffy for a normal Windclan cat. She has semi-long fur, and has a more compact and tight body, resembling some Thunderclan cats, although her Windclan heritage is obvious. (She has a Windclan father and mother, and a Windclan grandmother and grandfather). This is seen she still has the long legs that enables her to run as fast as any Windclan cat.
Paw Pads: With her hard paw pads, Snowdawn is able to walk easily through rocky ground on the moor.
Coloring: Snowdawn's pelt color isn't as white as what her name boasts it to be. It's more creamy in color, with pointed lynx markings on her paws, her tails, her ears and some of her face. The chocolate markings are slightly faded in some parts, darkening in other parts.
Face: Snowdawn has a round face, with big round icy blue eyes.
Tail: Snowdawn's tail is long and fluffy, that enables her enough balance while running across the moors.
PERSONALITY:
Protective: Snowdawn is an incredibly protective queen, and would not let any harm befall any kit of any kind, whether that kit belonged in Windclan or not. That also comes from being a single mother with a single kit. There are just times where she would just worry about her kit nonstop, running through the things that might injure her kit in her head. She didn't want Goldenpaw to be picked out by a fox or by a hawk. She would even go so far to ask Starlingstar beforehand on who Goldenpaw's mentor could be, approving the mentor of choice.
Kind: Snowdawn has a big gentle and kind heart, a heart that would put other cats behind her in front. She would give fresh-kill to outsiders who need it without thinking twice, and she would do anything in her power to help a sick or broken cat.
Friendly: Snowdawn is a great friend that would not let any cat down. She could keep a secret, and would encourage any lonely cat to coax them forward. Her friendliness also comes with a dash of motherly instinct.
Shy: Snowdawn had a slightly shy personality when she was younger, preferring to stay on the sides when her brothers use to play those rough and tumble games.
Soft-spoken: Snowdawn has a soft voice, and is incredibly soft-spoken most of the time. The furthest she would go when she's angry is when her voice would become firm, and she'd glare at the opposing cat.
Stubborn: Put her kit out into battle? No way. When Snowdawn gets stubborn, she would refuse and even stand up to the clan leader if her wants to. She's stubborn in her decisions to her kit.
Fussy: Snowdawn is fussy when it comes to her ways of caring for her kit. She's fussy in what her kit does, in what the apprentice's den looks like, even to the bedding that is placed down in the apprentice den.
HISTORY:
Snowdawn was born in a litter of four, the only female kit in the litter. She was a lucky kit, born in the warm days of newleaf, where the nursery was full of other litters and where prey was abundant. Snowkit and her three brothers were the last litter born that season. There was an older litter, consisting of two other kits, and since they didn't really have a huge age difference, all six kits got along fine. The gender ration back then was five male kits to two female kits, so it was sort of obvious how the games in the nursery would end up in. The games would end up more into 'fling-the-moss' and 'rough-and-tumble' games. There were elders complaining, warriors laughing as the kits would hurry and play around the camp. Snowdawn--who was Snowkit back then, was a gentle kit, a slight feminine one, unlike her three other brothers. She rather remained to stay back with Icekit, Shadekit's sister, watching the boys play and tumble. Snowkit had everything she could wish for. A warm happy family, an endless bounty of food, and lots and lots of friends. She was a popular kit among the apprentices and warriors, and her gentle and motherly personality even made her brother remark whether she wanted to be a medicine cat when she grew up. Naturally, Snowkit wanted to be a warrior, along with her brothers, and Icekit and Shadekit.
When Snowkit became Snowpaw, it was leaf-fall. The clan leader had decided to apprentice all the kits together, because of their near-close age difference and how close they were to each other. Snowpaw still had no idea of the hardships that were coming her way. She just wanted to be the best warrior ever. When it was nearing leaf-bare, there was another explosion in the nursery. Six kits! Well, it was five kits soon after, when one of the kits didn't make it. Snowpaw was close to the kits, keeping an eye to them and helping out with their parents. She was getting a thinner frame now, with leaf-bare approaching and less rabbits running around.
That was when Snowpaw's first tragedy stuck. It was snowing that day, Snowpaw's first snow ever. She enjoyed it, together with her three brothers, and Shadepaw. They pranced around the camp, trying to catch the white drifts that were falling from the sky. That was when one of Snowpaw's brothers realized that Icepaw was missing. It had been quite a while that Snowpaw knew Bluepaw had a crush on Icepaw, so they promised to look for Icepaw together.
They found Icepaw's body later that evening near the not-so-abandoned badger's den. She was ripped apart, torn apart, reeking of badger scent. She was out hunting alone, the badger caught her. They drove the badger out later, but it was then Snowpaw's realized her paradise was really shattered. From this point, she knew that it was time to grow up. That the clan was starving, and losing an apprentice in leaf-bare was something horrible. They mourned for Icepaw, Snowpaw's heart breaking when she saw Icepaw's only brother crouched down at the corner of the apprentice den refusing to eat, unable to sleep, just staring out into the sky where Silverpelt would glitter. Snowpaw approached him, and just pressed herself onto his pelt. The two of them stared into the sky, where Icepaw was said to reside now. Far away from reach.
Death was cruel. Snowpaw grew even more closer to Shadepaw after that, catching him in his free time during camp. That was the time when she realized that she was in love with her best friend. They became mates shortly after they became warriors, when Snowpaw was thirteen moons old. They all became a warrior together, sat their vigil together. Snowpaw--who was Snowdawn now, was looking at another new cycle of new-leaf, but she was ready to face the next year, together with her new mate. She found her love when she was young, and she was determined to not let Shadepaw--now Shadewind, go.
She was twenty moons old when she realized that she was expecting kits. Kits of her own! Kits of her own together with Shadewind. Snowdawn couldn't wait to tell him. She skipped out of the medicine den, and waited in the camp, knowing that the dawn patrol should be back soon. What came back wasn't her mate, it was his body. What happened? Snowdawn wanted to ask, the words stuck on her throat. It was an ambush with Riverclan. Snowdawn didn't even told him that she was expecting kits! Why did Starclan do this to her? The worse part was when she could physically feel her heart-breaking, as she mourned for him under the cruel starry sky.
Two moons later, she delivered a strong healthy tom kit. Snowdawn was happy, as she felt her strong son suckle her. She named him Goldenkit, thinking of the golden ages where she used to play with her family. She promised, vowing to herself that nothing would ever happen to her kit on her watch. Snowdawn was a strong mother, a good mother. She watched on her kit, and the two were really close to each other. That's one of the things that she would happen, in a single litter. Snowdawn didn't want to leave her kit alone. Incidents passed of course, but it didn't stop Snowdawn from loving her kit even more. She had to love him enough for both her and Shadewind after all.
Six moons passed by quickly, Snowdawn was twenty eight moons now. She could only watch in pride as her son stood on the high rock, blessed by Starlingstar and all of Starclan to be an apprentice. Did you see Shadewind? She wanted to call out. Our beautiful, beautiful son is going to be prefect. He's going to be the best warrior out there. Snowdawn missed the nursery, now that her son was sleeping in the apprentice den. She loved being a queen, almost as much as she loved being a warrior. She decided to help queens in the future settle down when they go to the nursery. But now, she was content in watching her son grow up. To her, all was well.
