☀ littleflame ☀
name: littlekit - littlepaw - littleflame
gender: male
age: 31 moons
clan: windclan
position: deputy
short description: delicate flame-point tom with blue eyes
appearance:
Littleflame, true to his name, has always been on the small side. While he isn't as short as he was in his youth, gaining some height with his age, he is instead especially lean for a WindClan cat. His longer limbs and thin form grant him a certain elegance, though this nobility certainly stops short of his snarky personality. In terms of coloration, his coat fades between a cream color and a pale ginger shade, though the ginger becomes more prominent along his face, paws, and tail. His eyes are a bright blue, prominent against the subtle shades of his fur. His coat is thick, longer along his tail and chest and enough to keep him warm in the cooler seasons.
personality:
cold, calm, sarcastic
Despite his refined looks, he certainly doesn't have a refined personality. He is often sarcastic and snarky, very rarely seeming genuine or gentle. He seems tired of everyone, a feat that is impressive considering his young age, and it can lead him to be tricky to get a conversation out of him without wanting to smack him with frustration. He takes great amusement in irritating others, often keeping his calm in even the most stressful situations. This is especially useful during Clan conflicts, where he will not let himself get heated with whatever argument is occurring. If he does lose his temper, it is only done so in private, never in the face of the Clan or someone he doesn't trust dearly.
precise, calculating, detail-oriented
While his often nasty attitude may make it strange that he found himself in a position of power, his saving grace is his strategic mind. He doesn't rush into any decisions, all his actions being calculated and as precise as he can manage. He constantly tries to think multiple steps ahead, and always concerns himself with the smallest of details whenever discussions or planning take place. He prefers not to be taken by surprise, though even when he is, his cool exterior helps him to take it in stride.
soft-hearted, caring, loyal
Despite his initially nasty attitude, Littleflame can prove himself to be especially caring towards his Clan. While he typically doesn't make a big show of it, he won't turn down an invitation to play with a kit or apprentice or share tongues with the warriors. Any cat that manages to become his friend will also find him especially kind, often making sure to put his companion's thoughts and feelings before his own. His loyalty towards WindClan runs deep, Littleflame not exactly fond of the other Clans or outsiders. While he won't be outright rude to them, often putting on a show of acting friendly, he has no love for them and will certainly not befriend them.
history:
Littlekit was born to the warriors Mothwing and Sunstrike, two older warriors who had already had one litter before. Lionkit and Littlekit were six moons apart, Moth and Sun making sure to raise Lionkit to apprenticeship before trying for another litter. Littlekit was born alongside a stillborn sister, and his small size made his parents doubtful that he would make it as well. 'We shouldn't have tried again.' Mothwing had mourned, 'We are getting old. This was a mistake.' Sunstrike didn't verbally agree with his mate, but it seemed like she was right. Surprisingly, Littlekit made it, pushing past those first hard moons to become a healthy and strong kit, albeit a little on the small side. While his parents certainly weren't absent from his life, Littlekit found himself spending most of his time with his brother, Lionpaw. The other tom was big and strong, seeming to be growing into a cat that could lead the Clan one day. Littlekit was more withdrawn than his brother, preferring to observe and learn rather than get down and dirty with the other young cats of the Clan. Despite their differences, though, the pair bonded closely, Littlekit constantly at his brother's side whenever they were in the camp together.
Soon after weaning him, Mothwing passed away from illness, leaving the two brothers alone with their father. Sunstrike was hit the hardest, and while he did his best to continue raising his sons, he slowly withdrew from their lives as he fell into his own grief. Lionpaw and Littlekit mourned together, but had each other to help raise each other out of the grief. They both set themselves on becoming the best warriors they could be for their Clan, to make their mother's spirit proud. Shortly after, Littlekit became Littlepaw, and Lionpaw became Lionwing, both in honor of his mother as well as for his agile fighting style.
Sunstrike never recovered like the brothers, though, and one day, while out hunting, he vanished. It was assumed that he was caught by a fox, but Littlekit and Lionpaw hypothesized in whispers that he had left the forest all together, to start a new life. It was upsetting, but once again, the brothers were there for each other. They were orphaned, but they were becoming talented members of the Clan, Lionwing's fighting improving even more while Littlepaw began to excel in strategy and hunting. They laughed together, joking that they could lead the Clan together one day, and all seemed well.
One day, though, Lionwing was out on a patrol, and the group were ambushed by a territorial badger. To help defend his Clanmates, Lionwing fought, but received fatal injuries. He was brought back to the Clan in an effort to be saved, but the injuries were too great, and he soon passed to StarClan. While he had experienced much loss before, the loss of his brother was a heavy blow to Littlepaw. He immediately closed up, blocking out any friends or close relations that he had made. Where before he had been a relatively sweet young cat, he immediately changed course, beginning to develop into the cold and determined cat that he is now.
After the loss of his family, Littlepaw surged through the rest of his training, working harder and harder to make up for his weaknesses and become the sort of fighter that his brother had been. He would never be as naturally talented, but he learned to fight with his mind, evading attacks and outwitting his opponent. He became Littleflame, named for his determination and witty nature, and continued to work hard through his warrior moons. He received his first apprentice at 24 moons, a loud-mouthed and confident young tom named Vervainpaw. While the pair initially clashed, often getting into silly arguments where Vervain tried his hardest to make Littleflame crack, Little grew fond of the spunky young tom while Vervain, reluctantly, began to enjoy training with his mentor. Where they had a rocky start, they finished smoothly, and Vervainpaw because Vervainfoot.
It wasn't long after he completed his training with Vervain when there became the need for a new deputy of WindClan, and to his surprise, Starlingstar approached him. He had never considered leadership after he and Lionwing had joked about it as youngsters, but as the opportunity was presented to him, he certainly didn't turn it down. The position doesn't come naturally to him, but he is still young and has time to improve.
