☁ cloudfang ☁
name: cloudkit - cloudpaw - cloudfang
gender: male
age: 36
clan: windclan
position: warrior
short description: cloudfang is a medium sized long-furred silver tom with blue eyes and white on his muzzle, throat, chest, and paws.
appearance:
cloudfang is a medium height tom. he is quite lithe underneath all his fur, with strong muscles. his fur is long and thick, which helps him during battle because his enemies can only get a mouthful or clawful of fur, rather than meeting flesh. his fur is also able to keep out moisture quite well, but is a hassle to keep clean and nice looking. his fur is silver with some darker grey tabby marking on his head, legs, and tail with white markings on his muzzle, throat, chest, and paws. his eyes are the color of a cloudless sky though they can change shade with his surroundings.
personality:
cloudfang is, for the most part, a calm and collected cat. he is protective of his sister, mintfeather, but knows she can handle herself. he is extremely loyal to his clan and would never do anything to jeopardize his clanmates. most of the time he is quiet and will do all of what is asked of him and more... just don't get on his bad side. in a fight, he is ruthless, which earned him the name cloudfang. since his fur protects him from most attacks, and he keeps it sleek enough so he can move quickly, cloudfang can hurt his opponents a lot quicker than they can hurt him. cloudfang is a quick tom, though not as quick as most windclan cats. all this makes him deadly because he is hard to hurt, is quick, and will attack until his opponent concedes or is dead. one trait that can be either good or bad, is that if one of his clanmates is in trouble, he will protect them with his life, and that very well may get him killed. cloudfang isn't exactly what you would call a skilled hunter, although he can hunt.
history:
~kithood~
cloudfkit was born in windclan, an hour before his sister, mintkit. since she was technically younger than him, he always acted the big brother, being very protective of her. he knew she could handle herself, but he was still protective of his family and friends. cloudkit was a ferociously energetic little ball. he was extremely outspoken, next to his quiet sister. he would do everything daring and more, alongside mintkit. his mother, honeyflower, was extremely kind, treating both of her kits with equal care and affection. foxwhisker, his father, was little cloudkit's favourite. he would bring the two kits prey, and tell them stories about battles or training or hunting. the stories amazed cloudkit and he decided that one day he wanted to have kits and tell them stories about the great world. cloudkit loved being taught how to hunt by the apprentices, but hardly took notice of the fighting techniques. he would practice all day, but still never get the hunting crouch exactly right. the siblings loved these sessions all the way until they were apprenticed.
~apprenticeship~
cloudkit, now cloudpaw, alongside his sister mintpaw, was apprenticed to bell. bell was a former kittypet who refused to change her name to anything else. she was a little rough around the edges, but had a warm heart and an aura of security. bell tried to get the best cat possible out of cloudpaw, and so cloudpaw tried to become the best apprentice possible to bell. his loud, outspoken nature matured into a calm, collected cat. he realised that all that time trying to get the hunting crouch right in his kithood wasn't the best idea and instead focused on those fighting techniques that he ignored. he was quick to learn, and easy to be taught, and in no time, he was winning all the tag-battles that the mentors set up. he decided to focus more on fighting than hunting, and trained as much as he could, bulking himself up and begging bell to go night training with him. he gradually started to grow away from his sister: that is, up until a battle. windclan required all warriors and apprentices to fight and so cloudpaw stepped up alongside mintpaw. the siblings fought as hard as they could, driving the attackers away. windclan pursued the attackers all the way to their border, when the attackers launched a counterattack. a particularly muscle-bound tom went straight for mintpaw, and without thinking, cloudpaw flew straight at the older cat's flank and ferociously wounded him. bell managed to get the rabid cloudpaw to calm down and dragged him off the poor cat. he was given a strict talking-to, which he took into regard, but still slightly ignored. mintpaw was given her warrior name, mintfeather, a moon before him as punishment. at 11 moons, cloudpaw accepted this as his duty and started to tease mintfeather about nettleclaw, a tom that he knew his sister had her eye on. at 12 moons, cloudpaw was given his ceremony and became cloudfang because of how ferocious he was in battle.
~warriorhood~
cloudfang, as a warrior, had caught the eye of a feline named heatherswarm. she was a warrior, slightly younger than cloudfang, but the tom was stuck in practice and battling every time she tried to approach him. one day, while cloudfang was training alone in an abandoned badger den, heatherswarm came up and introduced herself to the muscly warrior. the two chatted and trained together, and gradually grew closer. heatherswarm, however, was still stuck in the friendzone, where cloudfang had no idea that she liked him. it was extremely obvious, but still, the silver warrior didn't realise it at all. the pair were now the talk of the clan, and still cloudfang didn't know. heatherswarm decided that she was finally going to tell the warrior that she liked him, and she did. the two cats were training together, as per usual, in their abandoned badger den, when heatherswarm said to him suddenly, 'i like you, cloudfang.' cloudfang, being the stupid tom he is, said, 'i like you too, heatherswarm. you're my best friend.' heatherswarm said, 'no, not like that. like... i like like you. like more than a friend.' it took a few moments for cloudfang to digest this, and as he opened his mouth to answer, a rumble echoed through the den. it was a badger, and while it was digging a den for itself, it had managed to overlap the very one the two cats were in. this caused the whole dark tunnel to start to shake, and collapse in on itself. the pair pelted out of the tunnel, rocks and earth cuffing their heels. when the two saw the sky, they both sped up and managed to get out of the tunnel... kind of. heatherswarm's left back leg had been pinned underneath the earth when the two had made the last leap. when cloudfang pulled her out, it was completely twisted in the wrong direction, most likely broken. he put heatherswarm on his back to carry her back to the medicine cat, when a roar echoed through the air. it was the badger that had been digging and had caused the cave in. as the huge black and white beast came over the edge of the hill and caught sight of the two cats, it roared again and charged. cloudfang jumped out of the way, but his long sleek skin caused her to slip off and tumble down the hill. the badger turned and ran down the hill, trampling heatherswarm over and over again in front of a horrified cloudfang's eyes. he was propelled into action when the she-cat let out a small moan, showing that she was alive. the muscle-bound warrior barrelled straight at the badger's side, knocking it over and startling it. he swiped at it's eyes, digging his claws in and spitting in it's face. the two animals fought aggressively, blood spraying and snarls and hisses being exchanged. it was until cloudfang bit into the badger's belly that it retreated and fled down into thunderclan territory. the wounded tom collapsed next to heatherswarm and the two injured cats lay there until the next day, when the dawn border patrol found them in lifeless positions. they were quickly taken to the clan and treated by mintfeather, the new medicine cat, after sagetail had died. thankfully, cloudfang had broken nothing, just had lost a lot of blood. heatherswarm, however, had broken so many bones, that it was nearly impossible for her to keep living. she had a collapsed lung, a broken left leg, a crushed ribcage and, on top of that, had lost a lot of blood, although not as much as cloudfang. she was deemed dead a day after in mintfeather's care. cloudfang woke up two days later, starving and thirsty and sore. when the warrior was nursed back into health, he was told of heatherswarm's death and decided that it was his fault. he poured guilt on himself, and buried himself in battle training to try and forget the she-cat that had once loved him.
