☀ Honeyfang ☀
name: Honeykit - Honeypaw - Honeyfang
gender: Female
age: 13 moons
clan: Riverclan
position: Warrior
short description: Yellow pelted she-cat with eyes of an almost similar shade, also has faint brown stripe patterns on her fur
appearance:
Light brown stripes that practically disappear in the sunlight covers her pelt in a classic tabby pattern. Honeyfang usually kept her short fur in a state of messiness, never bothering to smooth it down whether it's after a quick swim or a round of training with her fellow clan mates. But despite its messiness, it’s far from dirty. The only thing she doesn't like about her fur is how little it keeps the cold out during leaf bare. While not the smallest amongst the other cats of the clan, Honeyfang still tries to carry herself so that she seems tall (it does get a little tiring after a while though.) It’s hard for her to go unnoticed as well, along with her bright yellow pelt, she’s also a regular bouncing ball of fur that refuses to stop moving.
personality:
Being a rather bouncy cat since her kit days, it’s rare to see Honeyfang stay in one spot for too long at a time. As a kit and even well into her apprenticeship, she’s been known to get into sticky situations (sometimes literally). While her mother, Mossheart, initially named Honeykit after her favourite food, she didn’t think her kit would actually live up to her namesake. Thankfully (or maybe not), that’s not the only way Honeyfang lives up to her name. As troublesome as she is, the she-cat can be very sweet. She’s polite to her elders and to those who are her seniors, she also has a talent to sweet talk her way out of heavy punishments. A skill she put to good use in the past to get her fellow kits or apprentices out of trouble as well. Say what you want, she’s very loyal to those she counts as friends.
But as sweet as she can be, there’s much bite in her as well. While she’s not quick to anger, Honeyfang is also quite adept in fighting and can sometimes get a little too caught up in a tussle. Even if it’s just a simple play fight. She tend to be rather competitive as well, most of the time unconsciously. She doesn’t mean to be though and would stop (or at least take it down a notch) when asked to.
history:
It was a mid-Greenleaf when Honeykit and her siblings were born to two very proud cats, Mossheart and Ashwhisker. There weren’t many kits born during that particular moon so their birth were almost counted as a blessing. Honeykit, while not the smallest, was certainly the youngest and not to mention, weakest at the time compared to her other littermates. While the others were already play fighting, Honeykit was kept close to by her mother’s side, which of course caused her to grow rather restless. She wanted to quickly get stronger so that she could play too! And thankfully, she didn’t stay as weak for long, though the other kits did get a bit of a head start compared to her.
Initially, the name Honeykit was given to her because of her brightly colored pelt and because of her mother’s odd love for honey and sweet tasting things in general. But the name really stuck on the day Honeykit managed sneak away from her mother’s side and was found much later by a frantic Ashwhisker with a swollen nose, covered in honey. “I found Mossheart’s favourite thing!” Was all she had to say for herself.
Needless to say, Honeykit was very excited for when she becomes an apprentice. She could barely keep still when she finally met her mentor, Adderfoot, who proved to be the best mentor for Honeypaw as he was able to keep up with her speed and energy. As excited as Honeypaw was, her excitement led her to not being that great of a listener. Always darting off as soon as she thinks she has enough information.
Of course she eventually graduated from immediately running off to sitting still and listening (for a while but long enough at least.) Adderfoot wouldn’t lie, one of his methods for teacher Honeypaw to stay still was by literally lying over her while he spoke. And that was pretty much the only problem Honeypaw had as an apprentice. She was especially spirited when it came to sparring. Hunting as well but only if it’s posed as a challenge, which might still prove to be a bit of a problem. But when it came the time for Honeypaw to be made a warrior, Adderfoot felt the she-cat was more than ready.
The night she had to sit for vigil was the longest anyone has seen her this still.
