it hadn't been long since she had been met by the oddly comforting smells of the forest at the edge of the twoleg place. her tail twitched confusedly, there were smells of cats, everywhere but each different, she walked along side the river at sunningrocks and area unknown to the white she-cat. the scent across the river was strongly laced with fish and water but from the side she was on it smelt of the forest. it was unusual to the lithe cat to say the least. her blue eyes narrowed as she glanced around, assessing the area. the sun illuminated the green floor, the rock near the center flat and easily accessible to cats. she wasn't surprised, other cats lived there, clearly. the cats the others spoke of, the ones that walked in groups, teams, or what was the word? clans? it all sounded foolish to cloud at this point in time, but her father was missing and she wanted to find him. she wanted to find him, and she needed help, but with what words could she use for their help. no words sat on the young cats tongue from the moment she was born, her tail lashed irritably as she bent over the small river, lapping up the water, her eye being caught by a fish swimming eagerly beneath the waters surface. her paws steadied at the rivers bank, her shadow vacant over the reflective water as the silver fish slithered through the rocks beneath its surface. her paw parted the water easily as her mother had once shown her in the twoleg face, except the fish were gold and slow unlike these ones. her claws hooked into the scale and threw it up onto the rivers bank before standing back, looking at the plump fish with smug satisfaction. a gift, something that would hopefully allow her to seen as something, anything that wasn't hostile. and then she heard the steady crunch of paws and smelt the approaching scent behind her.

Smokestorm Grey paws trotted over the grass happily, a grey tail swinging behind, also happily. Yellow-green eyes gazed around at trees and then looked back at a smaller ginger tabby cat when the grey head turned around. "Come on Honeypaw! I'm not going that fast. At least stay beside me so everyone knows we are together." The loud purr came out of the tom's grey maw. "If we get to Sunning Rocks quickly enough, we can take a quick nap before continuing on." The tall tom turned his head back around and seemed to be purring a strange, little tune. His trotting also sort of turned into a beat to match the happy tune. Smokestorm flipped around so he was trotting backwards, something that had taken him a very looooonnnngggg time to master. He grinned back at his apprentice. "Come on! You're my Honey, and you are just so dang sweet but I really need a nap before we head back and do some training." He quit trotting backwards and trotted back to her and did a little circle around the ginger tabby apprentice. "Have you ever actually tasted honey before? My word! It is worth even getting a few stings, just for a taste. Just like you, my Honeypaw." He rubbed his tail under her chin before bounding forward again. The tall, grey tom wasn't worried about any Riverclan cats trying to take over the Sunning Rocks. They hadn't tried in all the days he had come out here and taken a nap, so he wasn't scenting for any other cat scents on their territory. Which is why he was shocked into a stand still when he caught sight of a gorgeously white cat with blue eyes that matched the color of the water next to her. "Starclan! Look at that feline! How can anyone be so beautiful! Just look at that sparkling fur and them clear blue eyes! Did my ancestors finally answer my call for the perfect she-cat? Because I'm almost thinking they did!" He padded forward as he spoke. He gave the she-cat a grin. She didn't look wet from crossing the river but she did have a fish, so he took a breath unnoticed, trying to see if the she-cat was Riverclan. He wasn't catching a fishy stench from her. She had more of a twoleg smell on her. "Hello there sweet thang, did you know you're hunting on our territory?" He asked with a dazzling smile, his soft yellow eyes sparkling mischievously. He didn't sound threateningly, just flirty and smooth like he normally was. "My name is Smokestorm and your gorgeous self is called...?" He asked, prompting her to say her name. His gaze was fixed on her, but his ears kept twitching towards the Riverclan side, careful to catch any sounds of cats that were about to attack them. Goldpaw
Goldpaw giggled a bit at her mentor, padding after him light-heartedly. She twitched her ears this way and that, trying not to get too distracted by her mentor and whatever he was doing with his walking. "I'm Goldpaw," she complained, voice still happy, "I don't really hear any mice nearby, anyhow..." When he continued on and on, Goldpaw snickered to herself, whiskers twitching as she continued to walk.
When he got close, the tail near her chin only made her giggle slightly. "Thanks for calling me sweet!" She said, still a little irritated at the mis-naming, but hey, it was really sweet. "I've never tasted honey, but it seems sweet, according to all you've said! Heh, you're really cool." Goldpaw hopped slightly, and apparently heard another cat. Right as she noticed this, Smokestorm started to ramble on and on about how pretty this other cat was.
Goldpaw giggled, mewing, "That's right, go to her... when we're supposed to be chasing her off our territory..." Smokestorm, however, just walked up to the other cat and started to talk to her. Goldpaw, deciding to try and be serious, padded around to the other side of the mysterious cat and said, "Where... Where are you from? Why are you here?"
She, like Smokestorm, really wanted to talk to this other cat. Oh boy, Smokestorm was already affecting her.

cloud turned around, the fish at her paws as she watched the single tom cat emerge from the bushes. she tilted her head expecting a more aggressive cat attempting to chase her off their land. "Starclan! Look at that feline! How can anyone be so beautiful! Just look at that sparkling fur and them clear blue eyes! Did my ancestors finally answer my call for the perfect she-cat? Because I'm almost thinking they did!" cloud purred with amusement, her chest rumbling deeply as she padded over to him, a younger cat closer to her age now approaching as well. she was almost nose to nose with the slightly taller cat as she looked at his muscular figure in awe. she hadn't seen cats that looked so powerful before in the twoleg place. cloud smirked at his flirtatious mannerisms, turning her back on him, ignoring the younger cat for a moment as she padded back over to the fish she wasn't supposed to hunt. but from the smell of them, they weren't on the right side of the river to eat fish. she gripped the silver shape in her maw, padding back over to the two forest cats, dropping the fish at the tom cats paws. she looked up at him with her blue eyes giving him a soft and slow blink before turning back and standing a few paw steps away from him. as the cat her age padded around her, the both of them tossing questions toward her, she rolled her eyes. she was far too small to take on these two cats, she didn't need to be analyzed by the small ginger cat. her name. how could she tell them her name and what she wanted, she opened her mouth as though she was about to speak before closing it again and shaking her head, hoping the two of them would get the idea that she was dumb. she looked upward for the white marshmallows she was named after, when she saw cumulus clouds floating aimlessly in the sky, she looked back down at the grey tom with determination. she padded closer, her tail flicking upward at the sky and she looked up, then down again into his eyes, and repeated this before stepping back and looking at the gold cat. she padded forward, her nose stretched outward toward her as she gingerly took in her scent. hers was similar to the tom cats, it was odd as though they were kin living closely together as he family had. turning back she bounded back to the larger cat, walking around him curiously, as she looked him up and down. the both of them, far more impressive than twoleg cats. they could probably smell the twoleg place off of her fur. she butted his side with her head, her tail flicking his rump gently before she padded back around to where their eyes could meet. she willed them to see the plead for help in her eyes, her brows tilted in concern and worry, her ears lying tilted back slightly in distress. she needed to know if they had seen her father. if these mysterious cats could actually help her, but how could they when she couldn't voice her pleas. all she could do was chant the mantra of 'please' in her head for them to understand. perhaps she hadn't thought her plan to find her father through, no one could translate for her here.

Smokestorm Pale yellow eyes rolled at the apprentice's whining. "Goldpaw, Shmoldpaw. Honeypaw is much more flattering. After all, you are my Honey." He said that with another grin. His apprentice was a bit naive, but, well, he would always fix that. At least she had noticed how cool he was. Most cats just thought of him as annoying but that never bothered him. He ignored his apprentice as she continued to talk, his focus on the silent and slightly strange she-cat in front of him. "Come on darling. Let's hear that gorgeous voice I know that must belong with that stunning body of yours." Even after that, she still didn't speak. Instead, she padded closer to him until she was almost nose to nose with him. He could see mischeif in her eyes and it made him grin. Suddenly she smirked at him and turned away from them. Smokestorm stiffened his legs, ready for her to call for Riverclan cats or some rogues to come over and attack, but when she came back over with a fish in her mouth, he relaxed some. The beautiful yet strange she-cat brought the fish over to him and set it down at his paws, and blinked once at him, slowly, before backing away. As Goldpaw questioned the she-cat, Smokestorm dropped his head to sniff the fish. He wasn't opposed to fish as some of his clanmates were, he just was too lazy to catch some and he didn't like getting his paws wet. The grey tom lifted his head as the snow white she-cat padded back over to him, ignoring the ginger apprentice that had been talking to her. He hadn't noticed her open her mouth as if she was going to talk but then couldn't, nor did he notice her look up at the sky before coming over to him. He watched her as she alternated between looking in his eyes and up at the sky. Her tail pointed up and he tilted his head, confused before finally looking up. He saw blue sky and snowy white clouds. ...Clouds that were as white and fluffy as this she-cat. He quickly brought his gaze back down, a light in his pale yellow eyes. In the time he had been staring at the sky, the she-cat had turned to sniff at Goldpaw. He grinned brightly, showing his fangs slightly as he did so. "I think I know what my beautiful girl is trying to tell me. You're name is Cloud, isn't it? Well it's either that or Sky, but you don't look like a Sky to me. Other than them sparkling eyes of yours." After this, the she-cat bounded back over to him, but he didn't feel threatened. Her posturing wasn't threatening and she was much smaller than him. She was probably about the same age as Goldpaw, or she was just small for her age. The she-cat padded around him and he followed her with his gaze. She was looking him up and down, seeming impressed and he puffed out his chest. I mean, what cat wouldn't when you are being admired by a gorgeous she-cat? Now that she wasn't next to the fish as she had been before, he could definitelysmell the twolegs on her. So a kittypet, maybe gone loner? Her fur didn't look brushed, it looked like it had been groomed by a tongue, which meant she either didn't let her twolegs touch her often, or she had been out here away from them for a little while. Or both. She head butted his side, giving him a start, and then she flicked him with her tail on his haunches. "Looks like someone either wants to play or wants me to pay attention, eh?" He said with amusement, his eyes flashing. Again, the she-cat didn't speak but rather did her weird little thing of staring at him. "I'm gonna guess the pretty lady is going for the second option, sadly." He watched her face, his gaze roaming it, trying to find out what she wanted from him. He was actually sort of decent with body language since so many she-cats would try to let him down with their body language before they finally snapped at him. He had learned to quit before it reached that point, and try again later. He couldn't quite put a paw on it exactly, but how she was situated, made him think she wanted help. With what, he wasn't sure. He wasn't that good. The she-cat looked like she was in distress. Maybe she wanted help back home? "Are you wanting help to find your way home? Are you hurt? I didn't see any blood on that pristine coat of yours. Maybe you are looking for someone?" He offered, hoping something he said would be right. He paused between each question, giving her time to answer. Words || 845 (New high score! x3) Ooc || He's not really as good with stuff as he likes to let on. Tagged || Kuwaki || pix

She was... looking at the sky. Could she not speak? Goldpaw hummed, never having heard of such a thing before. She smelled a bit of the twoleg homes, but it was an older scent. Maybe? Goldpaw hadn't needed to use her nose to distinguish such things yet. The orange and white tabby watched as Cloud- her name, according to Smokestorm- padded back slightly and stared at them. What...? Smokestorm spoke up before she could, and Goldpaw listened to her wiser mentor. At his observation, the younger apprentice looked over Cloud once more. "I think she might need help with looking for someone," Goldpaw said, sniffing Cloud again, with her whiskers brushing the slightly older cat, "Who are you looking for, miss Cloud?" It wasn't like this wouldn't get Cloud of their land if they helped, right? Goldpaw twitched her nose, stepping back from the white she cat. Her own fur seemed messy compared to Cloud's white fur, and Goldpaw felt tempted to go and pat down her fur. Kuwaki Minteh Freshness

"i think I know what my beautiful girl is trying to tell me. You're name is Cloud, isn't it? Well it's either that or Sky, but you don't look like a Sky to me. Other than them sparkling eyes of yours." the smaller she-cat grinned brightly as she nodded her head at the sound of her name. her gaze faltered as she heard him lament over her not wanting to initiate a game, she cocked her head to the side with confusion at this tom cat. he was unlike anything she had ever met, not in a bad way, he was just, unusual. and then the small gold cat figured out what she wanted, her ears perked as she turned away from smokestorm flicking his nose with her tail as she bounded over to goldpaw in a few steps. "Who are you looking for, miss Cloud?" cloud sat in front of her, her brows creasing into a frown as she thought. how on earth could she mime her fathers disappearance. she let out a huff and shook her head, she couldn't think of anything unless there was an actual father around - but there clearly wasn't. she got to her paws, circling goldpaw with an intense gaze watching her every move like she had done to smokestorm earlier before she broke from her circle and padded confidently toward the grey tom. she nosed his should gently and flicked her tail, tossing her gaze up to meet his and then looking back at goldpaw as if to ask their names and who they were. and then her ears perked, she stepped forward slightly and took in smokestorms scent before backing away and turning to the river with curious eyes, comparing the scent across the river with his. it was strange, it as though there were two types of cats living across a river that should be easy to cross, it made no sense to her. in the twoleg place, you lived as one to survive, dumpster diving for the freshest meats that wouldn't make your stomach ache, not at all like this forest or the river where fresh prey lay beneath ever paw step she took. she turned back expectantly at smokestorm and goldpaw with her head cocked to the side to display her confusion at their different scents. cloud had gotten used to communicating in different manners to her kin, but communicating with those who didn't know her was both exhausting and irritating, it would've been so much easier if she could speak as they did. it would take her moons to figure out how to mime 'my fathers gone, have you seen him?' and then proceed to tell them what he looked like without her words. cloud let out a huff, sitting by the river, her eye line thrown downward at her reflection momentarily as her own face stared back at her. her pale blue eyes and white coat - it usually meant a deaf cat, but her mother believed her lucky to just be mute. cloud didn't think there was much luck in her unfortunate health status, but she couldn't change the past. and then the thought crossed her mind, these cats must just assume she was some house cat who relied on others to survive. she kept her coat pristine due to it being so white - you could see every speck of dirt on it, but it gave her the impression that twoleg hands had been rubbing it smooth. she didn't have the mark of a twoleg, no collar wrapped around her neck but any cat can remove those flimsy things. perhaps this is why they weren't acting aggressive, they assumed her to be no threat to them, but perhaps she should show them she could easily be a threat if she liked. she could put up a good fight even if she couldn't win, she didn't want to be seen as weak, as nice as cloud was. she looked at the forest cats through narrowed eyes as she waited for their next move.

SmokestormSmokestorm smiled at the white she-cat named Cloud. She seemed so happy that he had figured out her name and that made him feel pretty proud of himself. The grey tom was finally starting to realized that she couldn't speak rather than wouldn't speak. At least now he could stop expecting a verbal response. And hey, he would actually be able to flirt with her nonstop since she couldn't tell him to knock it off. He mentally laughed at his own joke, not wanting to laugh out loud and seem strange. The flirtatious warrior perked up when his apprentice started talking again. "i think she might need help with looking for someone." He held back a sneeze from Cloud flicking his nose with her tail before she bounded over to his apprentice. So Goldpaw had figured out what the blue eyes she-cat was looking for. He was surprised. At least my apprentice is smart. He thought with a slight shrug and watched the pair of young she-cats. When his apprentice asked Cloud who she was looking for, she started to look melancholy. He realized the dilemma. The beautiful she-cat couldn't tell them and had no idea how to give them a hint. So, like the generous tom he was, he spoke up. "Why don't we take her back to camp? I'm sure after a while we will be able to figure out who she is looking for. And someone in the clan might have a better clue than us, though no one else can be as smart as me, right Honeypaw?" He threw a grin his apprentice's way as the white she-cat padded confidently up to him. He wasn't really sure what she was trying to say but he realized that they knew her name but she didn't know theirs. He gave her a mischievous smile. "I suppose we should introduce ourselves, just so you can know your handsome savior. My name is Smokestorm and this is my apprentice, my Honeypaw. Our clan is Thunderclan, the best clan in the forest territories." He spoke quite proudly and waited for the awe that their Clan's name normally brought. It didn't seem to bring any and that made him confused, though when he thought about it, a kittypet probably wouldn't have heard of the clans from within their twoleg's dens. He shivered at that thought, wondering how anyone could live in those confining things. So, he asked. "Have you ever heard of the clans before? The one right across the river is Riverclan. They tend to try to steal our territory, just like Shadowclan on the other side of our territory. Also, how could you ever live with twolegs? I mean, I have to give it to them for keeping you so beautiful," he paused with a flirty smile "but, still, why would anyone want to be in such a confining space like those dens of theirs when they could be out here, free to hunt and be themselves?" He shook his head, not able to understand. He wasn't quite expecting an answer from her. He really just wanted to vent his thoughts. "Whatever. Anyway, we should probably head back to camp and bring Cloud with us. Hawkstar will probably want to know stuff. Though I wouldn't mind talking to Sunsplash for a bit." He stood up and nodded for Goldpaw to pick up the fish to take back with them. Smokestorm padded toward Cloud and then did a circle around where she sat. His tail ran along the length of her side as he went around behind her and on the way back on the other side, he rubbed his cheek against her shoulder. He paused in front of her, his pale yellow eyes gazing into her pale blue ones. "Come along Cloud. You can meet the rest of our Clan." He gave her a smile before trotting forward and glanced back to see if the two younger cats were following. He gave a slight nod to Goldpaw to take up the rear. Even though he had relaxed in Cloud's presence, he was still cautious and ready for a fight, which was why he was having his apprentice carry the fish. If the stranger wanted to fight, he would do better in one than the young golden she-cat. Words || 739 Ooc || He's such a brat with Goldpaw's name. Tagged || Kuwaki || pix
