☀ wrenpaw ☀

name: wrenkit - wrenpaw - wren?
gender: female
age: 8 moons
clan: thunderclan
position: apprentice
short description: plump, large brown tabby she-cat with brown eyes.
appearance:
coat coloring and texture- a very harmonic, classic tabby mix of chocolate-brown and honey-brown! around her face and front, it turns somewhat golden.
physique- much larger than the average apprentice her age, even a bit larger than males. also fairly round and plump, but don't be fooled-- she's much stronger than she looks! since she's so compact, it makes her a pretty good fighter but running's a bit hard for her. her tail is shorter than average.
facial details- large, round brown eyes, tiny pink nose, and well-spaced and average-sized ears. short whiskers and a white jaw.
posture- doesn't slouch; good posture, showing she's confident! however, she sometimes sits or sleeps in strange, unflattering positions. she thinks it's comfy and won't let anyone judge her.
personality:
Informal- With a very laid-back family, Wrenpaw never really learned the ins and outs of formality and etiquette. She wolfs down her food, gladly stretches out on her back whenever given the chance, and doesn't exactly hold back snarky comments in any situation. She can't really be bothered to fix this if you're not close to her and bugging her about it a lot.
Cool- Wrenpaw's got an unshakeable confidence in herself and her friends and has a flame inside her that's hard to put out. However, she's learned to mimic her big brother a lot and has definitely learned how to act cool and collected in any given situation from him. It's something she completely prides herself on and will probably never change with her, even if something terrible were to happen.
Unsympathetic- When it comes to cats outside of her friends and family, Wrenpaw doesn't hand sympathy out like candy. She doesn't understand cats that try to reach out to the more evil cats in the world or fall in love with the enemy. This is mostly out of stubbornness to keep her mind on things that directly affect her.
Big-sisterly- Of course, when it comes to cats she knows care about her, she'll always return the favor, using her large size to intimidate any of their enemies and staying supportive of them no matter what. She's not a total doormat, even with those cats: she's quite capable of figuring out what they're trying to do with her trust and won't hesitate to cut someone out if they try to manipulate her.
Lazy- She tends to not do much of anything even if it's asked for her unless she's getting a good reward out of it, instead doing her own thing much of the time... which is eating and sleeping. Being around ambitious cats really tires her out.
Nihilistic- Wrenpaw's not too sure on the existence of Starclan and often scoffs at other cats' talk of it. She's pretty convinced life hasn't got any big meaning to it and sometimes envies loners that get to see so much more of the world than she does. This philosophy makes her a bit too wild in her attempts at some things and she doesn't see much of a point to defense in a battle since she's going to die someday.
history:
family background and first 3 moons
Wrenpaw's family was a bit like a Clan within a Clan. They somehow kept close bonds even after kits grew up, and Wrenpaw came to know her grandparents and older siblings just as well as she knew her littermates and parents. Rumors drifted around that they had quite a few different loners in their blood, leading to their wanderlust and tendency to seek a fulfilling life through means different than the goals most other warriors shared.
This kit was born to a pair of the odder characters of the forest, Featherface and Sheepstep. Both parents were very close and happy in their relationship, and this helped Wrenkit and her siblings (named Thrushkit and Ravenkit) feel safer and happier. The parents quickly taught their second litter that they should never take mousedung from anyone and forge their own path in life as long as they're not harming cats of their own Clan. Featherface and Sheepstep especially stressed these teachings to the runt of the litter, Wrenkit. Wrenkit lapped these teachings up, but rarely got a chance to actually apply them... that is, until she met her older brother, Eaglepaw. He was a fresh apprentice by the time Wrenkit was born, so she looked up to him as a role model. It was Eaglepaw who really made Wrenkit who she is now, since she copied most of his actions. Once Wrenkit was old enough to have seen three whole moons, he said, they'd start going out on 'adventures'.
4-6 moons
Eaglepaw kept his promise to his little sister and began taking her out on a hunt every quarter-moon. Since it would be suspicious for them to be bringing back prey in the dead of night, they ate it out on the hunt or left it when they were too full to eat it and then rolled in plants to mask their scent. During these walks, Eaglepaw would show his more thoughtful side to Wrenkit and tell her exactly what he thought about the warriors' world. To be the best warrior you could, he said, you couldn't stick your nose in places you didn't need to be bothered about. Wrenkit quickly found herself agreeing: she wanted to only defend her family and friends, and by extension, her Clan. The other Clans were obviously cats like her and her brother, but she just didn't need to worry about them.
Over time, the walks got longer and longer. One night, the both of them got themselves all the way to Fourtrees, where they spent the night playing and eventually fell asleep under the stars. When they woke up, they found themselves being stared down from the bushes by a pair of bright green eyes. A stink that neither of them know drifted to them, and before they knew it they were running from a barking, frothy-mouthed beast that seemed to have infinite energy. Not being able to outrun the fox, Eaglepaw knocked Wrenkit into a thicket and ducked in after her, ensuring the fox had left before they continued back to camp. Wrenkit was awed by Eaglepaw's bravery and swore to herself that she'd be like that for all of her friends.
Applestar, apparently, didn't think the same when Eaglepaw and Wrenkit stumbled into camp, covered in thorns and tired but proud of themselves. The leader sentenced the both of them to be held back from promotion to the next rank for two moons.
held back for two moons
Wrenkit didn't exactly mind being held back, enjoying the extra leisure time it gave her after hearing her brother's accounts of how tough apprenticehood was. She developed her laziness during these two moons and still isn't shaking it off even after being assigned a mentor. Wrenkit plans to just roll with the punches in the future and live life to the fullest, one way or another.
