☀ Ripplestream ☀
name: Ripplekit - Ripplepaw - Ripplestream
gender: male
age: 9 moons
clan: riverclan
position: apprentice
short description: grey and white patched/striped tom with hazel/amber eyes.
appearance:
body || Ripplepaw is pretty stocky and has strong muscles from swimming. He's not quite as stocky as his father, rather getting the perfect body build of his parents. He also has a shorter than average tail. It is just barely noticeable.
coat || His fur is short but thick, which is good for swimming. His white fur seems to be just a tad bit longer than his grey fur which gives him a disheveled appearance since the white parts look like they are lifted more than the grey. It sort of gives it a ripple effect, which is a part of how he got his name. Though the fur on his tail is longer than the rest of his coat, though it's still not quite deemed medium length. It's too short for that.
color || Another reason for his name is from the color of his fur. The pattern seems to give off a ripple effect. His main color seems to be white, at least he has more of that color than his other color. Ripplepaw's other color is a storm cloud grey, though when wet it looks black. He has patches of grey that seem to be in stripes, or circles . He first has a triangle on his muzzle, so his entire muzzle is grey and it goes up between his eyes and then stops there. Then white separates that potion of grey and the next one. This patch of grey is more like a stripe. It almost completely covers his right eye and goes up over his ear narrows down in the center between his two ears, then widens out to cover his left ear and most of his left eye. It almost seems to be in the shape of a miss-happen butterfly. The next portion of color is on his front legs. His right leg has a large splash in the shape of a oval on the inside of his leg and stops before it hits his paw. His left leg has a similar one but it is longer and goes down onto his paw, completely making it grey. After that it is white until it hits right at the base of the back of his neck, where he has a small oval of grey there. It doesn't slide down either side, it just stays in the spot between his two shoulder blades. The white continues around that before hitting a patch of grey that completely and absolutely encircles him. On his right side it is a thinner stripe that goes from his back, down his side, and under his belly to connect with the stripe from the left side, which is much thicker. There is more white after that, which also encircles him, before another circle of grey that is right before his hips. Over his hips is a circle of white and then the rest of his haunches is grey, along with his tail and hind legs. Though there is some white on the back part of his back legs. On both legs, the white starts around the elbow/knee (whatever you want to call it) and goes down the back of the leg to the bottom of his foot.
eyes || Ripplepaw's eyes are a hazel color. They seem to be the perfect mix of brown, amber, and green. The probably wouldn't be called pretty since they almost seem like a yellow leaf caught in the mud, but they sure are interesting to look at.
others || All of his whiskers except for the ones over his right eye are white. The ones above his right eye are the same stormy cloud grey. His nose is a darker grey than his fur. His left front paw pad is the same dark grey and his right front is pink. On both hind legs, the front part of his pads are the dark grey and the back part are pink where the white and grey mix.
personality:
~Curious~
Ripplepaw is curious and adventurous. This normally overrides almost everything else about him, especially when he is with his brother, Bluepaw. Ripplepaw isn't quite as adventurous as his litter brother, but when those two are together, they tend to make quite a ruckus. His curiosity and adventurous nature has brought him a lot of trouble ever since he was able to open his eyes and move about. At first, it wasn't so bad because he couldn't really move anywhere but when he was able to walk around on stable legs, he was sneaking out of the nursery and the camp and challenging his brother on all sorts of things. Who could fight better, who could swim better, who could catch fish better. Neither really found out the winner because they were either found by their mother, their father, or a warrior sent to find them, or they were saved from the waters because the current was stronger than them. He is still just as bad as an apprentice. If he isn't challenging his brother, he is challenging another apprentice or himself. He has to know who is better and whether he can better himself.
~Loyal~
Ripplepaw is loyal to his family and his clan. With his loyalty comes a little too forgiving of a nature. If you snap at him or are mean to him, he just shrugs it off, thinking you are having a bad day. ...and if you keep doing it, he will think you keep having bad days and that it is his duty to brighten you up, even if you don't want it. He is loyal to the warrior code and Starclan, thinking they can do no wrong. Actually, he thinks no cat can do any wrong. Palestar, Zinnianose, his parents, and his big sis are all cats he looks up to and he has them on a really high pedestal. In his mind, these cats can never, ever, do any wrong, and if they ever did something that didn't seem quite right, well then they were covering for someone else or someone else told the story wrong.
~Playful~
Ripplepaw can be so playful that it becomes annoying because he is so hyper and has so much energy, even as an older apprentice. He can hardly ever get worn out, even from a vigorous training session. He can hardly even sit still, so hunting isn't exactly what he is best at. He is much better at fighting because he can just keep going, and going, and going and...well, you get the idea. It's hard for his mentor to get him to settle down or become worn out, and when he still has a lot of energy left, he can get into all kinds of trouble. With how energetic Ripplepaw is, he can either make cats feel invigorated or worn out just by watching him and he tends to drag other apprentices into doing things. With his brother, Bluepaw, they seem to take turns dragging one another into stuff, but Ripplepaw is always happy to go along with his brothers plans. After all, his brother tends to be the smarter one.
~Distracted~
To put it lightly, Ripplepaw is distracted. He has a short attention span so he gets distracted easily and it makes him really forgetful, which tends to tie into how he can't hold a grudge. Someone almost always has to bring him back to focus, whether it be in a conversation, hunting, or practicing fighting moves. His mind just wanders and he starts rambling off about other things until he either makes a full circle back to their original conversation or someone cuts him off and brings him back to what is going on. Sometimes he will be daydreaming and his body is moving of it's own accord and then when he comes back to the present, he has no idea what he is doing or where he is. It has happened on more than one occasion during a battle moves practice. He will be meek and sorry for what happened but then his mind wanders and he forgets all about it or he does it again. It's kind of frustrating for most cats.
~Hardworking~
Despite being distracted, Ripplepaw can actually be hard working. When he gets himself into something he will work hard at it, until he gets distracted again. He really does try to focus but it's just so hard for the young tom. He tries to work hard at everything he does, though it might not always count in other cat's eyes when he gets distracted from it, even if he ends up going back to it sooner or later. Even when he gets distracted by something else, he will put his all into that, until he puts his all into something else distracting. So overall, he is a hardworking cat. Just, some would call it "selective hard working". He doesn't let other's words get him down and get him to quit, instead, he tries to do better. He tries to make others proud of him, even if it doesn't always end up working.
history:
You know how most of these stories go. Two warriors were in love at a young age and had kits soon after they became warriors. Whelp, this story isn't like most others. Snowpebbles, a beautiful lynx-point she-cat was around 20 moons old when she had her first litter. There was two kits in this litter but one was stillborn. The other was a little she-cat that looked like her mother but her coloring was darker. Snowpebbles knew that her kit's fur would grow darker as she grew older, so she named her Heronkit. Snowpebbles and her mate started to fight and then he left her and her kit, acting like they weren't even alive. He was angry that his only son had been stillborn and he had deemed it as Snowpebbles' fault. The tom lost his life in a border battle just a moon after his kits had been born. Snowpebbles had to take care of her only kit by herself. She was so proud when Heronkit became Heronpaw and then finally Heronflight. Her kit was so beautiful but Snowpebbles had always wanted more kits. Without a mate, she wasn't able to have any more and it was another 20+ moons before she found another mate...
Greynose was one of those cats who had found his soulmate when he was only an apprentice. The two became mates soon after they became warriors. No matter what the two did, they weren't able to conceive. Both grew depressed but they still loved one another, even as they watched other couples have litters. Even though the two loved one another, they started to drift apart. When he was 46 moons old, his mate passed away from greencough. The grey-and white tom was devastated. He was getting up in age and wasn't sure if he would ever be able to love again and have kits. When he was 54 moons old, he noticed a she-cat that he had never really noticed before. She was beautiful but she was almost 15 moons younger than him. She was one of the cats he and his mate had watched have a litter but other than that he had never really payed much attention to her. Greynose thought back on what he knew about her and he realized that she had also lost her mate. Slowly, the two became friends, sharing stories of their lives with one another. Within moons they decided to become mates and try for some kits. When Greynose was 58 moons old and Snowpebbles was 45 moons old, they found out they were expecting. Both were so happy and soon enough their kits came. This is where Ripplepaw comes in.
Ripplepaw, then Ripplekit, was born with one other sibling, a brother named Bluekit. Both toms were grey and white like their father, and they were named after their appearances. Bluekit got more of his mother's body type whereas Ripplekit was more of between. Bluekit was a mostly grey tom with a "tuxedo" appearance, as humans would say, which resembled their father quite a lot. Ripplekit's coat is more white than grey. He has large patches of both white and grey in what looks likes stripes almost. These large patches almost look like ripples in a pond at dusk. As the two grew older, it was clear both toms got their father's eyes.
Ripplekit and Bluekit were both a pawful. Ripplekit was bursting with energy and could hardly ever be settled down for a nap and Bluekit was adventurous. Combined, these two always got into trouble wherever they went. And, they went everywhere together. If you saw one kit, you knew the other had to be nearby as well. The two tom kits would challenge one another on everything and that normally led to trouble. The most often trouble they got into was seeing who could swim better. Since they were both kits, each time it was neither of them. They often had to be saved by someone else, but that never made them stop.
Finally, to a great relief of most cats, the two were made into apprentices. The only cats that probably weren't real happy about that was their mentors. Those warriors had to deal with the two toms constantly. Ripplepaw and Bluepaw never outgrew their curiosity. If anything, it only seemed to get worse.
When Ripplepaw and Bluepaw were 7 moons old, their parents had another litter of kittens, which seems like it might be their last since they are getting up in age, almost near being elders. Ripplepaw and Bluepaw had to wait outside the nursery so they could meet their new siblings. When they were finally allowed to, the two toms were racing each other and pushing one another, trying to be the first one in. They finally settled down their antics when they got inside the nursery and found their two brothers and sister.
The two toms already had names. The grey tabby was Mistkit and the lynx-point was named Creekkit. Snowpebbles and Greynose had named Mistkit and Heronflight had already named Creekkit (she had told her mother the name since she wasn't sure if she could be there, which she wasn't able to) and the mates asked their sons if they wanted to name the last kit. The two apprentices grew excited and started talking animatedly with one another before finally settling on a name. As one they turned to their parents and the new kits and named their little sister Skykit.
Two moons have passed and the two toms have gone to see their little siblings whenever they get the chance. They play with them and try to teach the kits how to hunt and fight, though the kits are still pretty small and uncoordinated. Sometimes Heronflight would even come and play with them too.
